Job Description
The Company You’ll Join
Amperon is the leading analytics and forecasting company for the energy transition. Our platform leverages advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques to accurately forecast energy demand on both the supply (power & utilities companies) and demand (large energy users) sides of the market. We incorporate real-time data feeds that help our clients reduce cost, monitor energy efficiency while increasing substantially.Â
We bring the brightest mind from energy, security and technology in order to combat climate changes and transition to clean energy solutions. We have offices in Texas but are a remote first company.
Our Strategy
Amperon operates at the intersection of energy data, AI, and domain expertise to empower the world to navigate the energy transition more effectively. Using best-in-class data ingestion and management infrastructure, coherent AI/ML models, and leading-edge predictive analytics, Amperon provides tools that generate economic and societal value.Â
Amperon seeks to modernize the grid data and AI software stack to improve reliability, optimize asset economics, and accelerate decarbonization for grid operators, asset owners, and end-users. We're building the next generation of market-leading energy analytics and forecasting products, and we want you to be part of our journey!
The team you’ll work with
We use machine learning and data analytics to analyze large volumes of data, uncover patterns, and make predictions that can be invaluable in the energy sector. Our team manages deep and valuable data around energy supply and demand that can lead to more efficient and sustainable energy systems. We are a small growing team with the opportunity to build high velocity machine learning from scratch.
The Impact
We have direct impact to help optimize energy distribution, predict demand fluctuations, and identify energy-saving opportunities. We build analytical tools that can process vast amounts of data collected from various sources within the energy grid. We work with cross functional teams around new product development including international expansions.
The problems you’ll solveÂ
- Implement data validation and cleaning processes to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies in the incoming data.
- Build advanced time series forecasting models at scale.
- Create relevant features that can improve forecasting accuracy, such as lag features, rolling statistics, and domain-specific variables.
- Continuously monitor the training process and evaluate model performance on the validation set.
- Deploying well-performing models into a production environment.
- Analyzing historical data and real-time information to determine changes in energy consumption.
You may be a fit for this role if
You have senior expertise with building machine learning algorithms. You have extensive experience with data collection and data processing. Experience with techniques like data cleaning, normalization, and feature engineering to prepare the data for modeling. Experience with time series analysis and predictive modeling. Experience with Python and other modeling tools.Â
Benefits & Perks
While we are serious about our company's culture, we aren't going to force "culture" to prove that we are cool and fun. It’s a company filled with smart, genuinely nice individuals who are passionate about data science, energy and working together to build a product that can have a lasting impact on our planet.
Even though we are a remote company with employees spread across the globe, we still believe human interaction is a good thing. We will also have an all-company event at least once a year so people can get to know each other in a more fun and social way.
- Competitive salary plus stock option package. Compensation based on geographical location.
- Medical, dental and vision insurance
- Family planning benefits through Carrot which includes IVF plus preservation treatments, adoption and gender affirming care.
- Access to mental health services
- Annual company retreat
- Pre-tax commuter benefits plus CitiBike annual subscription.
- Work from home budget
- 401k
- Learning and development opportunities
- Flexible PTO policy
- Remote
If you are excited about contributing to a product that can have a lasting impact on our planet and you thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments, we would love to hear from you.
