Department Overview

Envysion, a Motorola Solutions company, is a leading provider of enterprise video security and business analytics solutions for the quick-service restaurant and retail industries.
Envysion's cloud-based solution integrates video systems with sales data to proactively identify potentially fraudulent transactions and optimize operations without the need to monitor hours of video footage. Our Engineering department is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to pioneer new machine learning solutions for our organization.
Job Description

This position can be remote anywhere in the USA or Canada

• Provide technical direction for the development of automated loss prevention insights

• Research data models and machine learning solutions to create actionable insights

• Collaborate with our CTO team to adopt solutions and technologies developed throughout Motorola Solutions

• Collaborate with our development teams to ship ML solutions to production

• Collaborate with our UX team to develop compelling visualizations for insights

• Collaborate with our DevOps team to optimize our DB schemas

• Recommend and implement emerging database and ML technologies

• Coach and mentor others to continuously improve our data science capabilities

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, or related discipline

• Post graduate degree preferred

• 5+ years of data science and/or machine learning experience

• Hands-on software development experience considered an asset

• Comprehensive knowledge of SQL

• Practical experience doing machine learning with Python for both experimentation and in production

• Experience with analytics/visualization tools such as EazyBI, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.

• Experience with cloud technologies such as data lakes built on AWS or Databricks beneficial

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Up-to-date with trends and developments in machine learning

• Desire to learn and continually improve self and others through knowledge sharing

Basic Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of experience
