You will get to work with creative and ambitious colleagues in shaping Stryker's AI future. You will partner with stakeholders across the firm in various business areas, understanding their business needs, ideating on potential analytics opportunities, and taking a lead role in project formation and execution. Impact opportunities are expansive, ranging from forecasting and financial planning to analytics and optimization of existing workflows.

**Preferred candidates will be located in the Dallas metroplex area, as occasional "in office" hours at our Flower Mound, TX office may be required.**

What You Will Do:

  • Drive and advance Finance's artificial intelligence initiatives through your daily activities, team working sessions, and hands on collaboration with the Finance community.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements to potential data science solutions independently.
  • Lead discussions across functions to leverage domain expertise and capabilities.
  • Lead and deliver presentations and communications that build data science credibility and rapport to a medium size group with some guidance.
  • Lead and mentor others root cause/problem solving efforts, including advanced troubleshooting.
  • Provide helpful insights in discussions on identifying opportunities where AI and machine learning can be applied to real-world business opportunities with key stakeholders.
  • Engage with various internal and external data providers and customers of those providers to obtain reliable and accurate data and data pipelines required to support new and existing data science solutions built and maintained by the team.
  • Solve complex issues using data science techniques and artificial intelligence with large, ambiguous datasets.
  • Articulate business problems and shape analytics results into informing, compelling stories for the business to understand and consume.
  • Architect large-scale, value-added predictive solutions that utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to be used by functions around Stryker.
  • Direct the day-to-day tasks of junior data scientists and interns as it relates to various projects and other team initiatives.
  • Use creativity to engineer novel features, signals, and solutions to push beyond current tools and practices.
  • Promote and develop the adoption of cloud-based technologies and innovative solutions to enhance data science capabilities to add value to all functions across Stryker.
  • Develop and provide quality metrics and education to existing and potential stakeholders on data science.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field experience required.
  • 4+ years of applicable data science work experience required.
  • Master's Degree or PhD in data science or quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Skilled in at least one programming language central to AI and data science (e.g. Python, SQL, Spark) or proficient in at least two languages required.
  • Experience leading end-to-end data science projects: from problem and requirements definition to model/algorithm validation and deployment preferred.
  • Able to identify the most appropriate statistical tool for a particular use case and project preferred.
  • Familiarity with a variety of visualizations (e.g. correlation heat maps, bubble charts), Azure tools (data storage, distributed computing, and business intelligence), MLOps, Git preferred.
  • Competent in object-oriented programming and data structures preferred.

$95,100.00- $204,000.00 salary plus bonus eligible + Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Wellbeing Program, Employee Stock Purchase Program). This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on current national data. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 10%
