Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual…
To join our team as a Senior Database Administrator. In this role you will be expected to use specialized software to connect to various Databases. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the databases have no data loss, are up/available and are secure from unauthorized access using the least privilege method. You will also ensure the integrity of the database, performing maintenance and DB checks. You will support developers and data analysts with the use and connectivity to databases.

• Build and configure: SQL Servers with AD permissions, Cloud database instances, such as but not limited to: AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Azure MySql, Azure PostgreSQL, Redshift
• Manage, maintain, and administer the company's Databases to ensure high availability, reliability, and security of all company data (includes SQL and Cloud databases as mentioned above)
• Audit all Databases by Querying: Permissions, Encryption, Backups, etc
• Perform Backups, Remediate backup errors, and Test backups restores to ensure RTO and RPO objectives can be met
• Monitor and Troubleshoot Database performance issues, determining the most effective way to increase performance. Including, but not limited to, underlying infrastructure recommendations, Storage, DB server configuration changes, or index/query changes
• Troubleshoot Developers Queries and optimize them
• Configure SQL Server monitoring, minimizing false alarms and accurately alerting on production impacting issues
• Patch and Perform upgrades of Database servers and applicable tools, such as SSMS, MySQL workbench, pgAdmin, ODBC drivers, DBAmp, etc
• Schema design experience to support our database used for infrastructure automation and to ensure our product schemas follow best practices for performance ​

For this exciting position you will have:

• ​6+ years of relevant experience
• The ability to perform your own analysis on complex issues and projects, and be able to think critically in coming up with solutions
• Documentation skills with organized and detail-oriented diagrams and knowledge base articles
• Automation skills that will help us to refine our daily processes
• Be efficient in SQL Query writing, joining multiple tables to exclude and include data as needed and reporting upon data
