Senior Database Administrator

Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator to work for our company.

Summary:

• Client Agency is IRS.
• Must be able to pass IRS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).  
• The Senior Database Administrator will manage, monitor, and maintain high availability PostgreSQL and Redis databases, ensuring maximum uptime, data integrity, and performance, while also designing and implementing backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes. Will collaborate with DevSecOps teams to integrate database solutions into containerized environments like OpenShift, provide performance tuning, and stay updated on industry best practices for security and high availability, documenting all activities.

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass IRS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).  
• Must have 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing high availability PostgreSQL databases.
• Must have hands-on experience with Redis clustering and replication for high availability solutions.
• Must have excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to optimize database performance.
• Must have the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and developers.
• Must have a deep understanding of database security best practices and disaster recovery strategies.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite in Washington, DC at least 50% of the time.

Preferences:

• Familiarity with containerized environments, particularly OpenShift.
