This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

Our Quantitative Investment Science group is looking for a motivated Senior Database Engineer with Software Quality Assurance experience to help produce innovative applications that create competitive advantage for HarbourVest in the Private Equity space. This engineer will contribute to this effort through their focus on application and data quality as well as test automation.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills coupled with outstanding attention to detail
• A passion for finance and financial markets

What you will do:

• Assist the Quantitative Investment Systems group in testing and deploying internal applications
• Code, run and maintain test suites for applications and data quality and validation purposes
• Work with Data, DevOps and Application development teams on integrating automated testing with CI/CD processes
• Establish data quality pipeline framework with test plans and dashboard results visualization.

What you bring:

• Demonstrated ability in SQL Database coding and development
• Demonstrated ability in Software Quality Assurance Engineering
• Proven experience with data-centric testing and deployment of FinTech based applications, data analysis, data pipelines and ETL for large datasets
• Familiarity with complex querying to determine overall data quality
• Proficiency in MSSQL or equivalent SQL RDBMS
• Familiarity working in a scrum/agile SDLC environment
• At least 2 years of automation development experience: Great Expectations, Selenium, DBT, JMeter, Cypress
• Preferred but not vital: Business Intelligence and Data Mining application experience

Education Preferred

• Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience
• Master of Science (M.S) or equivalent experience

Experience

• 5-8 Years of automation experience preferred
