At CSC Corptax, successful Database Engineering Team members should have a strong working knowledge of the latest Microsoft tools and technologies used to develop .NET web applications. You'll play an active role in the design and development of features for our cloud-based commercial tax software. You'll also help identify and leverage exciting new technologies, define best practices, and guide the optimization of a large and growing technology portfolio. We are seeking highly motivated and passionate Senior Database Engineer to join the team here at Corptax. In this role you will help design, develop, and maintain the database side of our commercial software product. We are a Microsoft environment and feature the many of the latest development tools including SQL 2022, Visual Studio 2022, Azure DevOps, GIT, Azure, Cloud Services, TypeScript, Angular 4, C#, and more.

Some of the things you'll be doing:

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems using Microsoft SQL Server and Azure technologies.
• Develop database architecture strategies, including data modeling and schema design.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient query execution and resource utilization.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues.
• Research, prototype and apply latest database technologies.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• A candidate for this position must have had at least 5 years of working experience working in a data engineering or database development, preferably as a Data Engineer in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and its eco system
• The candidate must have strong working knowledge in database design and modeling.
• The Candidate must possess strong working knowledge with NOSQL Databases (Could be any one like Azure Cosmos DB or Mongo DB)
• The candidate must be proficient in T-SQL programming and performance tuning.
• The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in any one of the scripting languages, for example, PowerShell, Python
• The candidate for this position must possess an ability to perform complex data analyses with large data volumes.
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain stable, secure, and scalable data engineering solutions and pipelines in support of data and analytics projects including building reports and data visualizations (preferably Power BI).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
