The Role

We are seeking a self-starting, highly experienced Sr. UX Engineer / Design System Engineer to join our ecosystem team, focused on scaling and accelerating our design system work. In this role, you work closely with product and content designers to build prototypes, conduct user testing, and iterate designs to create an optimal user experience. You will also participate in code reviews, ensure code quality, and maintain design guidelines and best practices. You will play a critical role in codifying components and building out our component libraries across our iOS, Android, and web libraries and assist in streamlining our design process, reducing the need for extensive user testing and iteration and resulting in bringing product features to market more quickly. 

Our product organization houses PMs, Program Managers, and Designers who work collaboratively and swiftly to deliver solutions to our clinician customers. We are at the phase of growth that requires a dedicated Sr. Design System Engineer to focus on codifying components to accelerate velocity and engineering capacity across our platform.

The design team is composed of product designers and content designers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work in collaborative cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that serve our customers and their clients across a range of behavioral health specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product designers, product managers, and engineers to implement solutions for end user and business needs
  • Author and maintain UI components that are accessible, performant, and scalable
  • Serve as an advisor for our frontend UI to teams and leadership
  • Act as a bridge between product design/UX and engineering, providing technical guidance and coaching
  • Lead best engineering practice discussions on design systems from an engineering perspective
  • Scale up and maintain a design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across products and platforms
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform design decisions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Implement and maintain design guidelines, standards, and best practices
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and efficiency
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of design projects
  • Identify and proactively manage project risks and dependencies

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in UX engineering, design system work, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Ember.js , or other relevant JavaScript frameworks and/or libraries
  • Deep knowledge on Figma and component libraries
  • Experience with design systems and component libraries
  • Familiarity with design thinking methodologies and user-centered design principles
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable working with remote teams, using tools such as Pivotal Tracker, GitHub, Asana, Slack & Zoom
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Base Compensation Range

$145,000 - $185,000 annually

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission and equity. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
