Job Summary

As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for applying Insidesource’s creative expertise and design services to support new and existing clients. You will work alongside a team of dynamic, creative workplace designers, practicing high standards for design and customer satisfaction. You will serve as a collaborative member of a project team including sales, project management, and order management. You will engage customers and industry influencers in forward-thinking discussions and workshops to solve strategic challenges within their organizations, using your creativity, skills, and expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including but not Limited to:

  • Assume responsibility for the overall completion of projects including programming, strategic planning, conceptual designs, space planning, presentations, design development, and production.
  • Delegate and oversee fulfillment of design deliverables as required.
  • Drive project solutions and customer experience to new levels in terms of engagement, business development, and innovative, tailored solutions.
  • Incorporate and execute creative design strategies, in collaboration with Insidesource project team.
  • As a trusted advisor, navigate customer and industry partner interactions with ease, clearly articulating design ideas and rationale for decisions and outcomes.
  • Proactively identify project risks, offering creative solutions and alternatives; work independently to execute next steps and evaluate results.
  • Establish and manage design project budgets, project scope, contracts, and coordinate deliverables with internal and outsourced design resources.
  • Manage and record billable hours, cultivate efficiencies, and reduce errors.
  • Champion design operational excellence by implementing established design process and documentation standards.
  • Provide leadership and expertise within Design department through process development, mentoring, and training for junior design team members.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills and flexibility.
  • Effectively and confidently address competing priorities and urgent situations, making sound decisions in short timeframes with appropriate action.
  • Participate in ongoing learning around strategic areas of focus, including partner products and solutions, sustainable design, design tools and technology, and workplace strategy.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • AutoCAD 2018/CET experience required and CAP 2020 Worksheet preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, web-support applications.
  • Strong knowledge of interior design field and current practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace trends (aesthetic, ergonomics, technology integration, workplace culture, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial furniture vendors, including features/benefits, pricing, application and assembly, specification options, and nomenclature.
  • Understanding of contract furniture processes, including specification development, order preparation, project management, order management, and delivery/installation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (including grammar, spelling, and proof- reading).
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and a keen eye for interior design, finishes, space planning and graphics
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to facilitate design development, activities with client and client’s project team. Ability to present using live design in person or over zoom type meeting
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced and collaborative work environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal dealership sales, project management, account coordination, procurement, and operations/installation groups, client, contractor and subcontractor trades, A&D firms, electricians, and client’s IT group, etc.

Experience/Education Required


  • 5+ years interior design experience and/or furniture dealership experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NCIDQ or CIDA accreditation preferred.
  • LEED and WELL Certifications a plus.

Pay Range: $90 - 110k

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, and specific licensing or qualifications.
