We are looking for a Senior Designer to join 16 Bars, the Maker Group for UnitedMasters | Translation! Please note that this role is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.

What You'll Do

The Senior Designer is at the forefront of creating and producing engaging visual elements for our clients’ brands, playing a significant role in the creative process, having input into the necessary brand elements, contributing to business development pitches, and generating other creative and compelling materials our teams need to excite, inspire and influence our clients.

• Organizing daily requests and projects assigned to you.
• Communicating with project managers on design project needs and requests.
• Problem solving and taking design feedback from design lead, creatives and clients.
• Designing a wide variety of assets that range from print to social to digital to motion and everything in between.
• Interpreting design briefs and taking ownership of the projects through completion. 
• Overseeing and mentoring junior designers that are also assigned to your projects.
• Art direction POV that can contribute to ideation.
• Writing and conceptualizing for client facing presentation documents.
• Extensive work for mockups and pitches.
• Presentation layout and cleanup.
• Key art concepting and development.
• Must be nimble and ready to pivot on a dime. Working easily, effortlessly, passionately across multiple brands on a daily basis.

• Possess and demonstrate a vibrant connection to, and fluency in, music-related elements and pop culture.
• Possess the ability to apply conceptual design thinking in all work you touch.
• Possess and deliver strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to present thoughts clearly, accurately, and succinctly.
• Possess and encourage high degrees of initiative, drive, energy, accountability, creativity and maturity.
• Possess excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills.
• Exercise the ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changing needs and expectations.
• Exemplary typography chops.
• Digitally savvy; MUST be proficient in the Adobe Suite as well as Google Slides and Microsoft Office suite (Mac preferred).

Minimum Qualifications

• 6-8 years of design experience
• 4-year college degree preferred
• Proficient in PS, Ai, InDesign, Figma, and other design software
• Proficient in Google Suite                                                                                        

Preferred Qualifications

• Illustration skills a plus
• Animation skills a plus.
• HTML5 & CSS skills a plus
• An understanding in how to incorporate AI into your workflow a plus

Brands like Diageo, Ally, and ESPN come to UnitedMasters to partner with these artists and play a role in moving culture forward. In the past year, UnitedMasters subscribers have grown rapidly. With $170M raised to date and valued at $550M, UnitedMasters is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Apple, Alphabet (aka Google), and Disney amongst others. Over the last year, UnitedMasters artists have used our platform to land sync deals with major brands including the NBA, ESPN, Overtime Elite, Bose, Warner Brother Studios and in the NBA video game 2k. These deals give them additional money for their work and increase their exposure.

Salary Hiring Range: $120,000 - $135,000

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)

Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.  We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. 

The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.  If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.

The salary range above is for the NY/CA.  As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
