Senior Designer

Daily Harvest is looking for a passionate and bold Senior Designer who will be an independent contributor. The Daily Harvest Creative team develops innovative creative for every part of the business. Daily Harvest is mostly agency-free—meaning, the in-house creative team juggles a variety of projects (think: web, print, packaging, installations, app, social, campaigns, and then some). We're a group of dynamic virtuosos with a knack for creating the inspiring and the eye-catching. We take ideas and transform them into concepts that stick. We are looking for a Senior Designer who is collaborative, innovative, and able to maintain a clear sense of priorities to join our team. 

This role will be responsible for how Daily Harvest is brought to life visually– from design strategy to concepting to execution. The right person for this role should have a strong graphic design background and book, is constantly pushing the envelope when it comes to designing, and has a deep background of working with stakeholders or clients, making them comfortable with a myriad of deliverables. This position will work closely with our art directors and copywriters to develop, concept, and execute brand deliverables while ensuring that the visual design standards are both upheld as well as evolved and refined over time. The ideal candidate is proactive, has a passion for the arts and design, has expertise in editorial design, and has exceptional organizational skills. This role reports to the VP, Creative

• Produce innovative and beautiful design solutions consistent with our brand image across all marketing channels.
• Partner with the wider Creative and design team when needed and actively participate in both concepting and executing designs.
• Work closely with the wider Creative team and art directors to ensure strong communication between visual design and art direction, and maintain the health of those working relationships.
• Foster curiosity and education around design trends to develop the visual design talent at Daily Harvest and allow it to push the visual brand forward.Foster curiosity and education around design trends to develop the visual design talent at Daily Harvest and allow it to push the visual brand forward.
• Lead projects from kickoff to handoff, getting approvals and buy-in when needed.
• Work with various stakeholders for needed collaboration on different projects.
• Present concepts and design solutions internally to the creative team and stakeholders.
• Communicate reasons behind each design proposal, to influence all internal and external stakeholders for buy-in.
  

• 5+ years experience within the field of design.
• A strong portfolio showcasing work across a range of platforms: paid, web, app and more.
• Experience leading large scale projects from concept to execution.
• Expert knowledge of typography, grid systems, color theory and composition. A background in illustration is a bonus.
• A passion for brand building and a strong understanding of how to maintain and evolve design systems.
• Advanced Creative Suite and knowledge.
• The ability to both design and direct (and excitement about doing both).
• The skills to balance big picture thinking while knocking out easier creative deliverables.
• Proven leadership and strong communication skills, plus an ability to work cross functionally with ease.
• Strong project management skills and composure in a fast-paced and frequently-changing environment with the patience to maintain clear communication.
• Strong work ethic and a “no task is too small” attitude.
