Athena is looking for a Senior Designer to join our in-house Creative Agency. We are looking for someone who can work on multiple creative projects simultaneously, and who is proficient in all major design and presentation platforms. We are looking for someone who is hungry to show off their design and branding talents, who is not afraid of hard work, who is eager to learn and grow and be a part of a high-performance team, who is professional in demeanor and who desires to be client-facing. We work in a spirited, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment and we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrive in this setting.

The Design team produces thoughtful and elevated creative designs. We create compelling graphics for different mediums that include but are not limited to the corporate website, branding, reports and fact sheets, press materials, presentations, and social media assets. Our work has a digital focus, but print projects are a part of the mix.

This role is versatile and collaborates with Art Directors and other Senior Designers. We operate in a fast pace, hands-on environment and thrive on collaboration.

* Note: This role is hybrid, on-site in Philadelphia, PA three days a week.

Our ideal candidate has the following:

  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other design software
  • Expertise in designing for various media, including print, web, and multimedia platforms
  • Strong understanding of branding and brand guidelines, and the ability to apply them to design projects
  • Experience leading design projects and supervising junior designers
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external vendors
  • Experience with user experience (UX) design and/or user interface (UI) design
  • Strong understanding of design principles and aesthetics, and the ability to develop creative solutions to complex design problems
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior designers and provide constructive feedback on their work
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies, and the ability to manage budgets and timelines for design projects
  • Ability to stay current with design trends and emerging technologies

Requirements

The skills and experience you should have:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience as a graphic designer or in a related field
  • A strong portfolio that showcases a variety of design work across different media and industries
  • Experience working with high-profile clients and managing complex design projects from start to finish
  • Expertise in typography, color theory, and layout design, and the ability to apply these skills to create visually appealing designs that communicate a clear message
  • Experience with animation, coding, and other advanced design techniques is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team of designers to deliver their best work
  • Experience with data visualization and infographics design
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketers, and sales teams
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity within the design team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions to design challenges

It's a plus if you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field or equivalent from a design program
