SENIOR DESIGNER

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Designer supports the VP, Creative, Design & Brand to help bring the collection to life across all categories, from helping create seasonal concepts that will shape the collection to creating compelling product stories with print & color execution. This position plays a critical role in the development of product, working with Merchandising, Tech Design, Sourcing and CAD at handovers and fittings to make sure product is translated & executed properly.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand the aesthetic for each brand and translate it into appropriate product
• Research and stay aware of industry trends and market competitors
• Ensure product is consistent with fashion/market trends as well as overall business strategy
• Create product story boards that capture design themes to excite our customers
• Create trend boards based on Design Director's direction
• Take an active lead to ensure designs maintain a cohesive look and feel across the brand
• Prepare fabric selection
• Develop cohesive seasonal color palette and concepts
• Closely partner with CAD designers to help develop CADs
• Attend and actively participate in fittings with Technical Design
• Work on special projects as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design
• Minimum 7 years of Design experience with strong product development experience across different product categories in women's wear

• Expert Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a must
• Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Broad product development
• Strong trend forecasting and color sense a must
• Marketing and branding skills required
• Strong presentation skills required
• Excellent taste level
