Senior Developer – Finance / IR / Tax

LOCATION: Greenwich, CT (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days work from home)

JOB FUNCTION

The Senior Developer will work closely with a team of senior engineers, business analysts, and business users, with responsibility for supporting our Accounting and Investor Relations systems. Primary responsibilities include:

• Join a team of five engineers focused on Accounting, IR and Tax solutions underpinned by Advent Geneva and Geneva World Investor
• Design, develop, deploy, and support .NET Core services with Angular font ends to supplement vendor platforms
• Work closely with our Accounting, IR and Tax teams to deliver new functionality, resolve issues, answer questions, and provide the best user experience possible

QUALIFICATIONS

A successful candidate must have:

• 5+ years of experience building software in an object-oriented language (C# preferred)
• Experience with modern web technologies (JavaScript, Angular, React, NodeJS, Typescript, etc.)
• A domain driven design strategy and philosophy
• Proficiency in relational database technologies (SQL Server preferred)
• A focus on clean code and automated tests, grounded in strong CS fundamentals
• Passion for technology and software design, with pride of ownership and drive to keep a high bar
• Comfort working independently through complexity in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communications skills, a great attitude, and the ability to build strong working relationships

The ideal candidate may also have:

• Experience working in a buy-side asset manager or other financial services firm
• Experience in portfolio and partnership accounting systems development and support
• Experience in private equity partnership accounting
• Advent Geneva and Geneva World Investor experience
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for keeping up with new tools and techniques
• Understanding of software design patterns and common anti-patterns

The base salary range for this position in New York City is $200,000 to $300,000. In addition to base salary, Viking employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, 100% coverage of medical and dental premiums, and paid lunches. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be individually determined based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, and other qualifications.
