Job Description

Sr Developer

  • Provide Design and Development expertise in the ETL, PLSql, Data Development space for web based projects, from the requirements phase through delivery.
  • Responsible for meeting development schedules and delivering high quality solutions that meet technical specifications and design requirements
  • Contribute to and/or lead the specification and software design phases of the software development life cycle
  • Performing and aiding in quality assurance testing, performance testing, troubleshooting application and environment issues, and production support.
  • Flexibility to develop complex code in some projects and provide technical leadership of more junior developers on other projects.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Play a key role in the technical delivery of multiple projects on-time, on-budget and with targeted zero defects
  • Mentoring junior developers
  • Provide planning, estimation, scheduling, prioritization and coordination of technical activities related to system development to assist the technical leads
  • Ensure system alignment to Enterprise Architecture policies and best practices; ensure that process methodologies are followed in system development
  • Accountable to technology management for application planning, development and delivery that meets and exceeds quality standards
  • Active participant in the creation of technical documentation including the Solution Definition document and Technical Design document; ensure documentation is aligned to the Functional Requirements and uses document templates that meet SDLC standards
  • Assist tech lead with identification of dependencies and downstream impacts of the project to minimize adverse effects on other projects and / or programs
  • Identify and communicate to project manager or tech lead any risks or issues associated with the development activities
  • Assist Project manager and tech leads with the estimation of technical timeline
  • Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development and participate in Code Reviews
  • Identify opportunities for system reuse and system simplification

Qualifications

  • 5 Years Required; 7 Years Preferred
  • University (Degree), Preferred

Additional Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Skills:

  • 5 or more years of experience in IT Software Development and Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in Oracle PL/SQL and/or ETL and/or Java/J2EE.
  • Strong experience in Oracle and/or Mongo DB.
  • Experience working in application Production Support environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Domain knowledge of Financial services (Especially in retirement planning, investments and brokerage and is a plus).
  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodology.
  • Experience in Data Management Strategies (ETL Frameworks, Data Modeling concepts).
  • Exposure to AWS data storage technologies. 
  • Work independently and enthusiastic to learn new technologies.

Potential Salary: $116,400.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
