Senior Development Associate
Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Development Associate to join the New Visions development team. The Senior Development Associate is a new and critical position that will report to the Director of Development, and is primarily responsible for donor database management, gift processing, and administrative support for the team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage Raiser’s Edge Donor database and implement best practices and processes to maintain accurate donor and gift records, manage data entry, data integrity, and maintenance
- Establish and manage an annual timeline of all major cultivation and stewardship events and activities, donor communications, and grants and reporting deadlines
- Generate donor and funding reports to support the development, fiscal and executive teams to track fundraising status, revenue goals and projections, prospecting and moves management, and ensure timely reminders for individual solicitors are in place for all prospects and funders
- Create, segment and refine all prospect and donor lists for solicitations, invitations, mailings, ask amounts, gift upgrading ranges, interest areas and giving history, e-blasts and all other donor touchpoints and communications
- Generate and proofread thank you letters and tax receipts for all gifts
- Conduct regular reconciliation of development and finance records to ensure alignment and consistent gift allocation and run standard and custom reports for reporting (internal and external) on progress toward goal and audit support purposes
- Mine data and conduct analysis that will inform strategies to optimize relationships and increase revenue from government, foundations, corporations and individual donors
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma/GED with commensurate experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a development and fundraising team, specifically database management
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge/ NXT required
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Successful experience supporting key development operations and systems that can support a growing professional development office
- Experience running reports that meet various end-user needs across different departments including development, executive and fiscal
- Excellent analytic and research skills to gather and determine essential data from a variety of sources and the ability to manage projects that require attention to detail and process management
- Ability to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, which involves setting priorities, meeting deadlines, communicating potential needs or problems, and responding when priorities unexpectedly shift
- Must have an even disposition and the ability to deal effectively with multiple teams and internal stakeholders and handle confidential data and information in a professional manner
- Creative approach to problem-solving and a demonstrated ability to thoughtfully consider and weigh option to address any given challenge
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure, and work independently
- Proactive approach to continuous learning and skill-building
- Excellent computer skills with the proven ability to master new software applications and technologies in database management including proficiency with prospect research software and tools
- Advanced proficiency in G Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Strong technical aptitude and experience with report writing tools and advancement systems preferred

While the majority of new hires’ starting salaries shall be expected to be placed in the first half of the range(s) to allow space to grow in the job, for those who already have significant relevant experience at that level of the job, placement at the higher end of the range(s) is possible.
