We are currently seeking a Senior Applications Scientist who will be responsible for working in the lab testing new formulations for extraction chemistries and plasmid purification as well as learning how to update and process documentation for release. This position requires a strong ownership and commitment to the product's success.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborate with internal groups such as quality, supply chain, and commercial team to ensure that changes are done following company established procedures.
• Monitor changes in the genomics landscape and provide scientific insight to inform strategic planning and new product development
• Initiate and foster collaborations with genomic thought leaders and industry partners
• Utilize scientific knowledge to solve technical problems
• Compliance with laboratory safety procedures

The required qualifications for the job include:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry plus 5 or more years experience
• 2+ years hands-on expertise with genomic extraction, plasmid purification, and/or next generation sequencing in a laboratory
• 2+ years experience troubleshooting lab experiments
• 1+ year experience in documentation of laboratory experiments and process to re-create them

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in product development or sustaining.
• Experience working with robotics

This position is a laboratory-based position within the Biotech Workflow Solutions business unit in Indianapolis, IN. The successful candidate will be able to work from home approximately 2 days per week depending on lab needs.
