Job Summary
As a Senior Device Engineer at OpenEye, you will play a pivotal role in bringing OpenEye recording products to new physical devices and system architectures.
This role provides a unique opportunity for adept coders who have a strong affinity for problem solving and experience with Linux platforms.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work with other engineers to develop board support packages, platform frameworks, and embedded Linux applications using C/C++.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure that products meet our company product requirements.
- Work with software engineers to design and implement features that interact with the cloud.
- Perform analysis and verification of hardware solutions.
- Work with product managers and quality engineers to ensure the products meet OpenEye’s standards.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with others to ensure the timely delivery of projects.
- Reviews development requests and makes educated decisions about the most efficient way to proceed.
- Drives collaboration with various departments and stakeholders, clearly and effectively communicating complex data concepts and strategies.
- Analyzes and interprets diverse input requirements, devising optimal strategies to fulfill each requirement.
- Reviews software code to ensure compliance with company, departmental, and team standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience with embedded software development with Linux platforms.
- Experience with board support packages, Linux kernel and drivers, and hardware bring-up.
- Experience with cross-compilation and development frameworks in platforms and environments such as Yocto (preferred), buildroot, OpenWRT, and Android.
- Experience with C/C++ coding following scalable and efficient software architecture and design principles.
- Experience with shell scripting languages.
- Experience with cryptography and specialized embedded processors a plus.
- Exceptional data analytical skills, adept at transforming data-driven insights into actionable outcomes.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and practices.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong quality ethic and test-first attitude
