Senior DevOps
Job Description
The Senior DevOps Engineer role is a part hands-on developer, operator, and solutions architect, supporting the business goal of making our clients’ customers’ lives better. Flexibility, communication, and knowledge sharing are all key components of the role, given that you will work with geographically and technically diverse teams. Keeping everyone on the same page as we take evolutionary steps while simultaneously continuing to manage and update current services is not for the faint of heart.
If you’re passionate about automation, resiliency, testing, monitoring, compliance, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and delivering value into your stakeholder’s hands as quickly as possible then this is the ideal role for you.
You will:
- Provide technical tools, test environments, processes, and development support to the client team
- Build and operate client production environments
- Participate in our evolution toward infrastructure as code
- Track usage and capacity plan for hardware and software on an annual basis
- Mentor junior team members in the construction of delivery systems using configuration management and horizontally scalable architectures
- Support incident response for developer tools systems
- Support incident response for client production systems
- Be able to work flexibly including outside of normal business hours
You have:
- 5+ years of web platform administration or operational support experience
- Experience managing and administering Linux systems
- Fantastic communication skills – both written and verbal
- Expertise in shell scripting
- Experience with Git
- Experience using the Atlassian suite of products or comparable
- Proven experience with at least one public cloud service such as Amazon Web Services (preferred), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Detailed experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Cloudfront or API Gateway, or similar services on other platforms
- Proficiency in at least one Infrastructure as Code platform: Cloudformation or Terraform
