Accrete is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer that will be responsible for guiding a team in creating and implementing programmable infrastructure (infrastructure as code), application configuration, debug code and document code and configuration. This will support new and existing applications running on Linux and Windows operating systems in private and public cloud infrastructures. The DevOps team engages in design, development, installation, and system administration of software build/continuous integration systems, anti-virus systems, security systems, and configuration management systems for Accrete AI systems and applications.

DevOps engineering participates in the full development life cycle of DevOps projects, including assessment of requirements, system analysis, and design.

Senior DevOps Engineer Hire's 1 - 6 months:

• Learn Accrete products, technological capabilities and build rapport with the team
• Create the necessary tools, guides & systems to be successful.
• Build relationships and information security, engineering, research and product teams
• Establish DevOps standards and guardrails for infrastructure operations, network standards, patch management, and enforcement of security and privacy standards.
• Establish foundations for DevOps automation using Terraform (or equivalent), AWS Cloud Formation, AWS CI/CD services, GitLab, Elastic Beanstalk, etc.
• Begin hiring and developing a DevOps team to support operations, develop automation and monitoring of existing environments

Senior DevOps Engineer Hire's 6 - 12 months:

• Continue developing the DevOps team and its effective ability to operate and scale
• Recommend architectural approaches that leverage AWS services in an optimal way
• Document processing and upskill staff to expand teams capabilities.
• Refine ticketing process and improve DevOps operations.
• Recommend strategic investments in tools to help automate operations

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Define processes for the DevOps program and align to best practice standards
• Attract, develop, and retain a highly talented team
• Conduct a thorough evaluation of our DevOps posture, identify gaps, and set priorities to create and execute scalable solutions
• Plan for and manage operational resilience for network and application while minimizing the effect on the business
• Develop and extend DevOps tooling and automation efforts across all applications and accounts
• Be responsible for the design and architecture of DevOps systems and controls
• Supervise the governance of DevOps
• Support security compliance activities including external audits, regulatory compliance projects, and overall information security reviews

Qualifications:

• 8-10 years experience with a BS degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Sciences or equivalent engineering degree.
• Experience in working in cloud native nimble agile SaaS based product development and operations environment
• Proven experience in AWS infrastructure architecture and management is a must
• Proven hands-on experience in devops automation in the following areas:
• Infrastructure architecture
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Application deployment and configuration automation using AWS Boto3 Python SDK
• Continuous integration and deployment using Jenkins and AWS CodeDeploy
• Knowledge of AWS services: EC2, ALB, Auto-scaling, IAM, S3, SageMaker, SQS, Systems Manager
• Knowledge of MLOps Pipelines implementation using AWS Sagemaker is preferred
• Working knowledge of building, deployment, configuration and troubleshooting applications built on: Apache Springboot, Nginx, Python Flask, Angular
• Working knowledge of MongoDB deployment, management, data backup/restore
• Knowledge of container technologies and EKS

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in computer science, or related field is preferred with 4+ years of directly related work experience, preferably in production support of highly available, online applications in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry
• 4+ years of leading DevOps functions in an agile development environment of cloud based SaaS products in automated build, continuous integration, software release, infrastructure bring up, IaC, deployment automation, continuous deployment, monitoring and operations in AWS
• Strong knowledge of Cloud infrastructure. AWS preferred.
• Configuration management concepts and tools such as Terraform or equivalent tools. AWS Services such as Cloud Formation, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline,
• Experience with version management and source control. GitLab preferred
• Strong experience with ticketing systems (e.g. JIRA). Clickup preferred.
• Building and maintaining production systems within the AWS ecosystem using products such as EC2, S3, ELB, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch, Elastic Beanstalk etc. and familiarity interacting with the AWS APIs
• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or equivalent.
• High-level scripting languages such as Python and script environments like Bash
• Lead DevOps teams in geographically dispersed environment (internet conference calls, telephone, face-to-face)
• Strong background in HTML, JavaScript, Java, etc. Comfortable with SQL
• 2+ years of production experience with Docker containers and orchestration platforms such as AWS ECS, AWS EKS, Kubernetes, AWS FarGate
• 2+ years of experience with performance optimizations such as improving scalability, availability, throughput, failover, etc
• 2+ years of experience including software development, Unix/Windows systems administration, and cloud-based application management
• 4+ years of experience with MongoDB, Bash, Jenkins (or equivalent), Terraform, New Relic (or equivalent)
• 4+ years with application servers and containers such as Apache Tomcat, Nginx, etc
• Strong infra and application security mindset
• Excellent verbal, written, and overall communication skills
• Excellent leadership and organizational abilities
• Strong understanding and experience with Secure SDLC and DevSecOps or security automation
