Senior DevOps Engineer

As a member of the Platform Engineering team, you are passionate about building modern tech stacks, enabling development teams, advocating for and implementing tooing to optimize developers path to production. You love to learn, take on challenges, and are empowered in a fast-paced and transparent culture. You're comfortable finding the right tool or pattern for the job, and advocating for improvements to the way we work.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will possess a strong understanding of CI/CD best practices, be an internal advocate of Infrastructure as Code, and help define and build repeatable patterns to meet evolving business needs. 
What you will do:

• Guide and lead the evolution of capabilities to support the autonomy of adjacent teams while enforcing a level of standardization through IaC, CI/CD, workflows, tooling, etc.
• Collaborate in the design and implementation of IaC, tools, workflows and processes
• Collaborate in the design and implementation of monitoring and observability strategies to identify and improve site reliability
• Partner with adjacent teams to provide guidance on architecture and infrastructure
• Guide the design, implementation and evolution of Jetty’s modern infrastructure and network architecture
• Drive collaboration with internal and adjacent teams, building on those modern patterns to create reusable and programmatically extensible solutions
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
• Actively collaborate with our product and project teams

The experiences you will bring:

• 5-8 years of experience in Systems & Cloud Native design and implementation
• Able to resolve a wide range of issues and design goals in creative and collaborative ways
• Collaboration across the organization, empowering your teammates and mentoring junior engineers
• Expert understanding of modern source control tools and CI/CD practices
• Advanced understanding and experience in AWS (Certifications recommended)
• Advanced knowledge in containerization and container orchestration technologies
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code practices and relevant tooling (Terraform or equivalents)
• Advanced experience with cloud networking methodologies and components; service networking, API Gateway, service-discovery/service-mesh
• Intermediate experience with cloud-based security controls and practices
• Intermediate experience with networking, Linux systems administration, and common cryptography practices and libraries
• Experience with configuration-as-code management and tooling to manage those configurations
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python
• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
