Senior DevOps Engineer (San Diego, CA)

As the Sr. DevOps Engineer you will act as an enabler of faster software development cycles and speed-to-market through build and deployment automation. In this role you will ensure high quality releases by optimizing interfaces between development and operations, removing boundaries and impediments using agile methodologies.

Your role:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, leveraging best practices for scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools for provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of infrastructure and applications.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and automate software delivery processes.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of our systems and applications.
  • Continuously optimize and improve our infrastructure and processes to increase efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices and implement measures to protect our systems and data.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team and promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong focus on AWS cloud platform.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services and features, including but not limited to EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, and VPC.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
  • In addition to a solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and troubleshooting techniques must have a familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools such as Terraform.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $109,200 to $201,600, annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

Note: At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
