Job Description Summary:
We are owners of the Continuous Delivery/Deployment platform used by all Braintree engineers to automate their Build and Deploy pipelines. This is powered by Docker, Kubernetes and AWS, with Jenkins being the orchestration engine and Argo Rollouts used for canary rollouts. Our application and infrastructure is fully automated as we practice engineering excellence and dog food our own Continuous Delivery/Deployment platform. Our next adventure is to find the best approach to converge Braintree and PayPal Build, Test and Release processes keeping developer experience top of mind.Role Requirements:
You are a motivated software engineer who is passionate about making thousands of engineers productive by building automation at scale and enabling DevOps. You are knowledgeable of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, security and operations. You are a self-starter, able to work solo and as part of a cross functional team. You thrive at simplifying hard problems and can articulate the solution to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Job Description:
You will be fully owning the Braintree release engineering platform and tool set, which requires a strong DevOps foundation. You will be responsible for uptime and quality of the platform, including helping engineering teams self-serve their build/release pipeline and providing on-call support for critical incidents as we support engineering teams across the globe.
6+ years of full stack development experience.
3+ years of Jenkins administration and experience developing automated CI/CD systems is highly desirable
Must have experience working on AWS cloud with strong Linux background
Experience with Ruby, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GoLang is highly preferred
Experience owning complex software systems in production (development to deployment to operations)
