Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Intro:

The DevOps team is seeking a highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer who will play a critical role to define and drive our platform initiatives. This role will help implement IAC across our existing and new AWS infrastructure, provide technical guidance across engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, and be a thought leader on the DevOps team. You will also help implement systems, tools, and processes across the entire organization that will greatly improve engineering’s efficiency and application reliability.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provision and manage new AWS infrastructure using IAC tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Lead the conversion of existing AWS resources into IaC managed resources
• Build complex integrations with enterprise systems for Security, Distributed Tracing, Telemetry, and others.
• Collaborate with leadership on the operational requirements of software solutions, risk, and operational impact 
• Provision and lead the adoption of CI/CD across engineering teams for improving software deployment and stability
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure agile software delivery and DevOps practices are applied 
• Help to optimize cloud costs through more efficient patterns and architecture
• Collaborate in code reviews, daily standups, and sprint planning, pair programming, and MVP strategy and operations
• Coordinate with program and project leaders to analyze technologies being utilized on the projects.
• Meticulously document architectures, processes and anything which cannot be codified
• Maintain the integrity of services integrated with our cloud environments, including proprietary in-house systems/platforms and external integrations.
• Help build and scale containerized apps by implementing cloud native architecture  
• Stay up to date on industry best practices and fine tune to build a world class software ecosystem
• Mentoring junior software developers in gaining experience and assuming DevOps responsibilities

Basic Requirements:

5+ years of experience with:

•  An array of AWS services such as: Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, S3, EC2, EMR, Fargate/ECS/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift
•  Provision and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters
•  AWS Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS)
•  Working on CI/CD pipelines
•  IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible (or Chef)
•  Docker container management/deployment experience
•  Git version control
•  Jira/Confluence
•  Development design patterns such as AWS Well Architected and 12 Factor principles AWS Certifications at associate level or above greatly desired

Bonus Experience 

• Experience with Databricks administration and configuration  
• Experience with Python, Golang, Bash scripting, etc…
• Experience with observability and reliability engineering
• Experience working in a big data environment
• Experience working in a healthcare industry context (HIPAA etc…)
