Job Description

Position:  Senior DevOps Engineer

Responsible for creating and maintaining software services to provide Developers with everything they need to get IT and software development services into production. Automates the configuration and templating of AWS infrastructure created by our services. Creates services which interact with third-party tools to provide Developers with the tools they need. Measures and maintains JW Player’s software reliability through instrumentation and monitoring of our systems and the underlying infrastructure. Works to improve our processes and systems iteratively. Part of a production support on-call schedule. Works as part of an Agile Team using Kanban, which is a framework used to implement agile and other DevOps software development. Build, enhance, and support multiple services running on Kubernetes clusters. Work with storage, network and infrastructure teams cross-functionally to plan and design upcoming engineering initiatives. Identify gaps in operational systems and work with architecture to build, review and productionize full-stack systems to address these gaps. Utilize IAC to define and create cloud infrastructure in AWS.  Build and manage complex LAN and WAN networks with protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF and EIGRP. Part of a small team of senior engineers who plan and define company-wide technical architecture, process, and strategy.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 2 years of related experience. In the alternative, company will accept 4 years of related experience. Must also have 12 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: (1) Building, enhancing, and supporting multiple services running on Kubernetes clusters; (2) Working with storage, network and infrastructure teams cross-functionally to plan and design upcoming engineering initiatives; (3) Identifying gaps in operational systems and work with architecture to build, review and productionize full-stack systems to address these gaps; (4) Utilizing IAC to define and create cloud infrastructure in AWS; and (5) Building and managing complex LAN and WAN networks with protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF and EIGRP. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Salary: $170,000/year. Full-time, position, may telecommute from any location in the U.S. Reports to company headquarters in New York, NY.
