Overview of the Role:

This position reports directly to the Director of DevOps and is responsible for CloudOps, DevOps, FinOps, and SecOps processes. The role will focus on design, implementation, and management of secure, scalable, and resilient systems deployed to AWS.

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience as a Senior Engineer with a strong background in DevOps practices, cloud security, infrastructure automation, and a deep understanding of AWS services. They will be driven by excellence and grounded by an unyielding commitment to quality, security, and DevOps principles. 

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering teams and the Security team to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPPA, HITRUST, SOC2), contractual requirement, and cloud security best practices
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and application infrastructure using AWS Developer Tools and GitHub Actions to automate infrastructure deployment, artifact creation, testing, and application releases through IaC using Terraform
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and remediation activities
• Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of cloud environments
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in DevOps, SecOps, and FinOps practices
• Monitor and analyze cloud resource usage to ensure efficient allocation and optimize cloud spending
• Effectively communicating project status and technical information across business structures
• Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation

Relevant Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role with a focus on AWS cloud environments
• Deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Extensive experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools, particularly AWS Developer Tools and GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience with AWS Serverless technologies, AWS Database services, AWS Storage services, AWS Application Integration, and AWS Management and Governance
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog)
• Strong Linux (Ubuntu) administration skills and containerization experience 
• AWS Solutions Architect Certificate
