Senior DevOps Engineer

Rackspace has been commissioned by a major customer to assure the build of a sovereign multi-tenant private cloud that we have designed.

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. This role is crucial in addressing our increasing workload and resource constraints particularly as we prepare for eight upcoming releases. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our development efficiency securing project timelines and improving overall software quality

Responsibilities

• Design implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes

• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using platforms such as OpenStack or VMWare

• Implement and maintain containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes)

• Collaborate with development teams to improve code deployment processes and application performance

• Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and performance

• Automate manual processes to increase efficiency and reduce human error

• Ensure security best practices are implemented across all systems and processes

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in DevOps or similar roles.

• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Bash or PowerShell.

• Strong Experience with virtualization and networking technologies.

• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab CircleCI).

• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (OpenStack VMware) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• String expertise in containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. ELK stack).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
