The Cloud Engineering Team at Swift Navigation is responsible for Swift's cloud infrastructure. It's an agile team, building innovative solutions with infrastructure as code to provide self-service capabilities to development teams so they can deliver high quality apps faster.  We are also responsible for building and maintenance of high volume resilient CI/CD pipelines.

Now a little more about what you could be doing as part of our team and contributing to Swift’s mission and vision. As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Cloud Team you will be responsible for:

Duties/Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the infrastructure and systems.
• Set up and drive technical directions of the project while mentor and up-level junior engineers in the team.
• Design large scale systems within the team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
• Reduce Operational Toil and maintain high degree of automation by adapting IaC first and GitOps principals.
• Automate the provisioning of environments using frameworks such as Terraform, Github actions etc
• Implement and manage Observability tools preferably Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog etc.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using one or more of the following: Github Actions, Jenkins etc.
• Scale our applications and infrastructure to support our growing ecosystem.
• Experience with network and server infrastructure monitoring and management.
• Conduct peer reviews of prospective code changes.
• Work comfortably in an agile environment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience writing IaC using Terraform, build and scale stable kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with Kubernetes multi-cluster challenges and Kubernetes networking (e.g. CNI deployment and troubleshooting).
• You have a high bar for Automation and are well versed in python and other scripting languages.
• You have passion for reliable, scalable, observable software with a strong sense of ownership.
• You have a good understanding of data structures and algorithms, and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions.
• You have impact through your communication skills and love sharing your knowledge with others, helping them grow.

Desired Skills/Experience :

• Experience with programming languages like Golang, Java, C#, etc.
• Experience with software system architecture or microservices architecture design and implementation
• Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Python, CI/CD Devops

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000 - $168,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
