Senior Devops engineer - Remote

Role : Sr Devops Engineer

Location : Dallas TX or Remote

Participates in all Release Management agile activities. Process the various GA/major, service, and patch releases appropriately, following standards and understanding where there are variations by product. Produces reports and metrics as requestedRuns automated install tests and batch jobs and have an understanding of how to develop and fix automated scripts. Serves as the internal advocate for product release coordination between development teams, Support, and the Release Management team. Works collaboratively with QA, Documentation, Dev Support, Development, and Product Management teams to ensure that the proper components are included in a release and tested.

Responsibilities:

• Design and Code Devops best practices on how data is acquired, structured, stored, processed, delivered and visualized
• Create and improve CI/CD build pipelines
• Develop procedures to automate various systems and tasks (e.g. automating code builds and deployments) using Jenkins, Groovy, Git, Docker, Terraform, Chef or Ansible;
• DevOps and Cloud solutions to include infrastructure automation, automated CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and operations, and well-architected cloud infrastructure
• Execute system administration of hosting platforms capable of running on a variety of frameworks in Java on cloud infrastructures (JBOSS, Tomcat, Java, J2EE).
• Employ innovative and secure solutions to ease developer and testing experience.
• Responsible for coding and troubleshooting tools and services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with eight plus years of relevant experience which includes 1-2 years of experience architecting, designing, and deploying Devops at an Enterprise level with successful experience building out and supporting a Cloud production environment (Prefer Azure, but open to other public Cloud solutions).
• Experience in Engineering Infrastructure Development with the latest cloud-native technologies like Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Public Clouds, Helm etc.
• Has worked in a test-driven development environment with a quality mindset and ability to work with globally distributed teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with more than one configuration management solution (i.e. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform).
• Solid proficiency with Repository and Pipeline related tools (BitBucket, GIT - Jenkins, Bamboo, Travis, Circle CI).
• Experience with the implementation and use of different Application and Infrastructure monitoring tools, ELK stack for monitoring/log analysis
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages. Python is preferred. PERL or Ruby is also possible.
• Experience designing infrastructure as code using and working in a secure development lifecycle.
• Experience with gradle build process and configuration
• Experience creating and managing ARM templates
• Docker and Kubernetes knowledge
• Understanding of cloud-native or microservices architecture
• Experience with core systems like Active Directory and NTP.
• Experience with managing databases (Cosmos, MySQL - advantage)
• Strong understanding of how data should be stored and organized with hybrid cloud platform to ensure efficient consumption.
• Strong understanding of Cloud security, networking, storage, and resource policies.
• Experience building/integrating both real-time and batch processing pipelines
• Understands how to manage cloud resources economically with consideration to how solutions need to dynamically scale while being cost conscious.
• Understands CI/CD methodologies and technologies.
• Passionate about collaborating with engineering teams to drive innovative products
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
