Summary:
Primary Responsibilities:
Coaching/Mentoring
Mentors team members with less experience.
Research/Evaluation
May evaluate future technologies and makes recommendations for software and hardware upgrades.
Communications/Consultation
Supports and participates in the formal reporting of DevOps Tools environment status.
Documentation/ User Guides
Ensures documentation is developed and maintained.
Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Monitors production, outputs, and services to ensure that SLAs, and other quality metrics, are being met.
Policies, Procedures, and Standards
Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and standards.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
Implements the plan for backup and disaster recovery for infrastructure solutions.
Security
Reports security issues when appropriate and gathers required information. Makes recommendations to improve security and participates in investigations as needed. Ensures security requirements are adhered to.
Production Support
Documents, monitors, reports, and manages the resolution of systemic issues. Works with System Engineers, Vendors, and Architects when issues appear systemic or cannot be resolved. Recommends procedures and controls for problem resolution or creates temporary solutions until permanent solutions can be implemented. Documents problem status and resolution. May implement software or hardware changes to rectify problems or address improvement opportunities.
Continuous Improvements
Recommends performance metrics. Analyzes and reports on operational metrics to understand performance and to ensure success in process improvements. Identifies ways tasks can be automated toward Continuous Delivery.
Testing
Conducts testing in appropriate environment to ensure requirements are met.
Performance Monitoring
Monitors tools operating capacity/performance in terms of (e.g., disk space, storage and CPU utilization). May recommend and approve changes/enhancements for improved systems availability, reliability and performance. Determines the required course of action to improve performance and escalates when appropriate. Reviews performance and control reports. Recommends settings changes to the operating system to improve performance and reliability.
Maintenance
Performs routine maintenance tasks for DevOps Tools infrastructure systems such as backups, patch management, plugin maintenance and version updates.
Design/Develop
Develops in conjunction with the user base new delivery pipelines utilizing the appropriate toolset. Develops scripted solutions and automation. Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms.
Business Requirements
Works with project team to understand business needs. Provides feedback and recommendations on available tool technologies based on their requirements. Communicates any DevOps Tools environment changes to stakeholders.

Summary:
- Individuals in the Infrastructure Engineering role are responsible for executing the strategy set by architecture.
- They are responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure and operations (Infrastructure), in accordance with security policies and guidelines.
- Infrastructure Engineers typically spans: server platforms, middleware infrastructure, networking, client technology and storage systems.
- Additional functions and processes include service and product management, performance and capacity management, patching and version management, and Level 3 operations support.
- Some individuals in this role design and build the systems operating environment to meet business requirements.
- They monitor and optimize the performance of operating systems and applications such as Web, Messaging and Collaboration, Unix, Windows, and LAN/WAN.
- They are also responsible for the design and implementation of the network, telecommunications, desktop and mobility systems.
- They diagnose system failures and take corrective action in order to ensure continuity of operations.
- Members in this role need good communication skills and must be able to work collaboratively with system users and other technical colleagues. Individuals coordinate and work on multiple cross-functional initiatives/work groups and projects as a team leader or advisor.
- They will develop and build highly complex systems that may have system-wide impact, integrate across the organization, and involves multiple technical environments and disciplines and complex infrastructure solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the development/engineering teams to build/test/deploy pipelines and operate our infrastructure and platforms
- Automate, monitor and streamline operations
- Build and maintain DevOps tool stack for the deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting for all of our environments
- Understand the differences and commonality in technical requirements, end-user needs, and security and compliance requirements of each environment
- Evaluate and implement technologies that improve efficiency, performance and reliability
- Develop and deliver creative solutions that enable engineering teams
- Build common tools and procedures to streamline and standardize development and deployment
- Design, write and document scripted functionality to increase availability, scalability, efficiency and repeatability

What your background should look like
- Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree/certificate in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Typically requires 8 or more years of relevant IT work experience.
- Relevant certification is required.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of a broad range of hardware and software products.

- Experience with general IT concepts beyond their primary discipline
