**Job Description:**

Uptime.com is searching for an experienced, driven and dedicated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, site reliability, and DevOps, with a proven ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Work with our Development and Operations teams to build and support our service-oriented architecture in a scalable, secure manner.

2. Maintain and administer production systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.

3. Automate infrastructure and platform service offerings, focusing on scalability and reliability.

4. Assist in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our platform running on AWS.

5. Provide on-call support to resolve and/or escalate production incidents or issues.

6. Develop tools to automate deployment, administration, and monitoring of a large-scale Linux environment.

7. Improve CI/CD process making sure software of various types is safely deployed in a scalable manner.

8. Participate in the creation of new distributed components and services.

9. Manage and tune systems to ensure optimum level of performance, service, and availability.

10. Design and execute stress tests on infrastructure; analyze results to measure the impact on system capacity and reliability.

Requirements

**Requirements:**

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or related field.

2. 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or equivalent software-engineering role.

3. Extensive experience with AWS, Linux/Unix Administration, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Ruby.

4. Strong knowledge of databases, CI/CD tools, infrastructure as code, containerization, and cloud services.

5. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

6. Expertise in implementing and managing monitoring and alerting capabilities.

7. Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and transport level security.

8. Proven track record in designing, building and managing large scale infrastructure.

9. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress.

10. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
