Job Description
Join our dynamic Release Engineering department, where we're at the forefront of automating the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Charged with maintaining the entire development toolchain and crafting internal solutions to enhance efficiency and security, we're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to bolster our Test Automation and Environments (TAE) team. Together, we're building cutting-edge internal tools and frameworks to optimize the SDLC, spanning the spectrum of full-stack development.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and refining frameworks and tools that power automated workflows for InterSystems products. From testing to environment configuration, your creativity and problem-solving prowess will drive innovation. Collaborating closely with diverse departments, you'll decipher requirements and engineer solutions, wielding control over design and implementation. Your responsibilities include setting specifications, writing impeccable code, conducting thorough testing, and troubleshooting applications.
Responsibilities:
- Innovative Tool Development: Spearhead the development of internal applications and tooling to enhance development efficiency and security.
- CI/CD Infrastructure Mastery: Design, build, and maintain the CI/CD infrastructure and associated tools to streamline deployment processes.
- Collaborative Engagement: Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, and project meetings to foster collaboration and drive technical excellence.
- Knowledge Sharing: Educate and empower other departments to autonomously and safely leverage the developed frameworks and tools.
- Prompt Response: Address technical tasks and requests promptly, ensuring efficient resolution and minimal downtime.
- System Health Monitoring: Proactively monitor system health and application availability, taking preventive measures to maintain optimal performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Cultivate an environment of continuous improvement, championing best practices and protocols across the development team.
Qualifications:
- Platform Proficiency: Comfortable working in both Unix and Windows environments, with a deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Programming Proficiency: Proficient in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java, and adept at source code management with tools like Perforce or Git.
- Scripting and Automation Skills: Experienced with scripting languages like Bash or Python, and knowledgeable about container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with the Atlassian product suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and commonly available software testing tools and automation frameworks.
- Communication and Collaboration: Possess clear communication skills and a diligent mindset, able to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile team environment.
- Continuous Learning: Exhibit a constant desire to learn and grow, and a willingness to share knowledge and insights with others.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with front-end development frameworks like React is advantageous.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent STEM field (Physics, Mathematics, etc.).
