Job Description
The Senior Digital Designer is responsible for creating visually engaging and innovative digital, web-based and mobile experiences for a range of cross-platform digital communications. This individual works closely with other members of the creative team, marketing teams and web developers to understand and execute against projects of all sizes and meet functional goals and objectives.
The Senior Digital Designer weaves images, iconography, typography, color, space and technology together to delight users with designs that excite and engage them. They rely on customer-focused design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept to execution—across multiple platforms. This role works collaboratively across marketing teams, as well as other functions, to produce high quality, brand compliant work, while meeting strict deadlines.
The ideal candidate will be a multidisciplinary creative who can collaborate with subject matter experts to understand data and trends, and apply them to problems or practices appropriately, work effectively with various stakeholders to align on best execution and design concepts, work independently and at a fast pace, work well with other designers and help elevate the team.
As a Senior Digital Designer, you will be:Â
- Designing various marketing materials–particularly front-end web, digital, and informational materials
- Ensuring high quality, brand compliant creative assets
- Identifying problems that are not immediately evident and working with others to modify or adapt the process or policies outside of precedent
- Clearly communicating creative ideas and collaborating with internal and external partners/teams
- Prioritizing tasks and projects according to businesses' needs, marketing objectives and required deadlines
- Demonstrating advanced knowledge of production principles and best practices in the management and coordination of the creative process
- Conducting your own research to stay current on design and marketing trends, and incorporating new technologies as appropriate
- Supporting leadership in helping to build a unified team mindset
- Leading projects as assigned
- Conducting trainings as necessary
- Supporting Continuous Improvement and Testing initiatives, from organizing tests to disseminating results and information resources
- Advising as the Subject Matter Expert on best practices for implementation
- Willing to complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Graphic Arts, Advertising, or Fine Arts preferred
Portfolio: A strong online portfolio is required, demonstrating solid digital design skills and innovative interactive work.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience of demonstrated success in a Digital Design role on a Marketing team, In-House Creative group or external agency
- Demonstrated experience managing projects with competing priorities and working in project team environments
- Familiarity with various digital advertising platforms and ad types
- Comfortable working with and directing contractors and vendors as an extension of the teamÂ
Technical Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe CS
- Working knowledge of Content Management Systems (Drupal preferred), Project Management and workflow tools (Monday.com, preferred) and Digital Asset Management Systems (DASH or similar)
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
