Job DescriptionYour Career
The Senior Digital Forensic Lab Technician will report directly to the Forensic Lab Director and play a key role in ensuring that digital evidence is handled and tracked according to best practices. The successful applicant will thrive in a dynamic, rewarding, and challenging environment where an ability to multitask and an attention to detail are paramount. A flexible schedule, including a willingness to assist as needed during evening hours and on weekends and to participate in an on-call rotation during holidays, is essential. In addition, the ability to work in the office at least 75% of the time is required.
Your Impact
- Proactively assess lab needs and requirements (i.e. hardware, software, tools, lab network infrastructure)
- Procure, maintain, and manage software library used by forensic lab technicians and the professional services team
- Travel to perform on-site client data collections (30%)
- Guide, support, and train junior level lab techs
- Prioritize and delegate tasks/assignments to junior lab techs as necessary and oversee to completion
- Oversee forensic lab requests (via Jira) to ensure they are completed accurately and timely
- Assist with Jira ticket requests as necessary
- Work with lab leadership to maintain, update and refine lab documentation and SOPs periodically and as required
- Work with IT to perform periodic network storage assessment to ensure legacy client data is removed from our network and archived appropriately
- Receive, inventory, track and audit all incoming and outgoing evidence in accordance with company and lab procedures and standards throughout the case lifecycle, from inception to closure
- Maintain accurate chain of custody documentation
- Acquire forensic images and preservations of digital media including desktop and laptop computers, servers, and mobile phones and tablets
- Research and test forensic hardware, software, and related technologies
- Work with IT team to monitor and maintain forensic lab computing infrastructure
Your Experience
- 3+Â years of experience in digital forensic laboratory
- Familiarity with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems
- Experience with troubleshooting routine operation of computer hardware and software
- General understanding of computer networks and underlying infrastructure
- Passion for technology, cyber security, and digital forensics
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a related or relevant field such as information technology, criminal justice, cybersecurity, information security, or digital forensics or equivalent military experience required
- An understanding of forensic imaging tools and techniques and prior experience with handling digital evidence are desirable
- Relevant industry-recognized certifications (e.g., EnCE, ACE, etc.) are desirable

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $69,000/yr to $111,750/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
