Maesa is currently seeking an individual to join our finance team as Senior Director of Accounting Transformation. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing best in class accounting practices, automation and process improvements.
The candidate will assist in review and supervision of the current Controllership team, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and general accounting.
This role will be responsible for ensuring the company’s policies, procedures and controls are adhered to and operating effectively. This includes working heavily cross-functionally with supply chain operations.
The role will report to the Controller, and work closely with the Group CFO and VP of Finance.
Pay Range: $170,000/yr - $190,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight to the corporate accounting function, including mentoring of other finance team members.
- Review of monthly financial reporting to ensure accurate accounting of business results, with a strong emphasis on inventory management, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Develop process and procedures manuals, policies and controls.
- Coordination with independent auditors for annual audits.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA and public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting operations, including leadership of teams.
- Robust understanding of U.S. GAAP / IFRS, management reporting and analysis.
- Able to focus on the overall objective for a given process or accounting area, while at the same time be able to dive into transactional detail to resolve questions and/or evaluate best practice for a new business process.
- Insightful, able to identify trends and themes for continuous improvement across the function.
- Motivated by and thrives in a fast-paced environment with frequent ad hoc requests and changing priorities.
- Strong oral and written presentation skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Functional experience with ERP platforms, knowledge of Epicor a plus.
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel required.
- Experience in beauty and fashion industries or CPG experience a plus.
