Senior Director, Advanced Technology

The Senior Director of Advanced Technology will report into ONE Media Lab. This is a hands-on individual that will help define our technology strategy, drive innovation, and lead ONE Media's engagement various standards organizations including ATSC, HbbTV, 5G and IETF. The Senior Director of Technology will also work closely with the vendor community to foster compliant Next Gen Broadcast receivers. This individual will also provide vision, technical leadership, and program management for supporting Sinclair's DDaaS program.

Responsibilities:• Develop SDO engagement strategy and plan for ONE Media• Actively participate and contribute to key initiatives at ATSC, 3GPP, IETF and other SDOs to ensure alignment with Sinclair's business objectives• Develop a vendor strategy to encourage and promote rapid retail availability of ATSC 3 compliant receivers including TVs and low-cost STBs• Promote One Media's vision through public forum, technology demonstrations and public speaking opportunities at key industry events• Support the One Media Lab staff through mentoring and training• Serve as technical project lead and SME for key Sinclair initiatives• Participate and support ONE Media's technology demonstrations at key events (NAB, CES, etc.)• Support other ONE Media's key initiatives

Required Skills• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject• Strong Working experience with broadcasting, Cable, IPTV and Mobile• Working experience with IP protocols, web technologies and cloud services• Experience with video streaming technology (e.g., MPEG Dash, HLS, MSS and RTSP)• Working experience with ATSC 1 and ATSC 3 technologies• Experience with middleware and RTOS such as Android• Great analytical skills and have a passion for driving technology• Experience with Agile development methodology• Excellent organizational, leadership skills, able to work as a team, and a self-starter• Proven project management experience• Good time-management skills
