Senior Director, Assistant Controller
Job Description
SUMMARY
The Senior Director – Asst. Controller is a strong leader that will oversee and take responsibility for Avetta’s entire expense cycle, international general ledger, monthly close procedures, and assist other accounting department assignments. The Sr. Director – Asst. Controller will also oversee the Company’s OneStream instance. This role will assist in streamlining processes that will help Avetta close its books faster, as well as help to scale Avetta’s financial systems, policies, and procedures. The Sr. Director – Asst. Controller will work very closely with team members within our Finance and Accounting teams as well as across all departments to make necessary changes and complete projects (as required) in support of company-wide goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the entire expense cycle, including vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations; employee expense report submittal, auditing, and reimbursements; and non-payroll accounts payable and other accruals.
- Assist with managing the general ledger reporting structure and design.
- Supervise the general ledger reconciliation assignment and review process.
- Supervise the monthly close assignment and review process.
- Oversee general ledger by legal entity and reporting jurisdictions.
- Assist with US GAAP adoption and implementation strategies.
- Assist with internal control design and execution.
- Design and prepare internal and external financial-data reporting to provide useful information to decision makers. Provide necessary data or reporting interpretation.
- Oversee aspects of data support for worldwide direct and indirect taxes.
- Administer and be the first level of reporting for the Company’s OneSteam instance.
- Assist with merger and acquisition integrations.
- Take on special projects as deemed necessary by the executive team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- MACC, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Proven accounts payable and financial reporting supervision skills.
- Understanding of databases and file management systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (advanced filtering, vlookup, pivot tables).
- Experience with database comparisons and reconciliations.
- Experience with consolidation software.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP Software, preferred.
- Proven experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Trustworthiness and high level of confidentiality.
