As the Sr. Director, Business Analytics you will have a unique impact on Techstars’ Business Analytics team whose purpose is to make all aspects of our investment and portfolio support decisions data driven. Your Role:
- Work closely with the executive team to define analytics strategy to support business goals
- Be a thought leader on how we can best use data to achieve strategic objectives, closely monitor industry trends
- Help us answer some of the most impactful and strategic data questions as we grow and scale, translate the business questions into data questions
- Build our Business Analytics team and processes from the ground up
- Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees
- Roll up sleeves and dig into the data! This role is a combination of hand-on delivery + leadership
- Plan and prioritize analytics needs within larger cross-functional business initiatives
- Define and implement data management methods and techniques to achieve the necessary data quality objectives
- Partner with data engineering team to help ensure our technical data products enable business needs
- Create the necessary processes to help the whole organization make sure of data (e.g. data catalog, dictionary, training)
- Manage our suite of reporting and analytics solutions
Qualifications
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- 7+ years in data analysis and reporting
- 3+ years in a senior role, developing analytics and reporting strategies
- A passion for data and the desire to dig in
- Stellar communication and stakeholder management track record, experience working with both engineers and executives
- Strong technical skills (SQL, Tableau, Python) and familiarity with modern data platforms
- Expertise is data management and data governance (e.g. mastering, lineage, reference data, data quality, data stewardship etc)
- Entrepreneurial spirit, desire to drive data and analytical transformation, ability to thrive in ambiguity with an eye on long term strategy and step-wise execution
- Experience building and coaching teams of analysts
- Excellent product management, project management and a track record of execution
- Experience in VC, fintech or a related field
Compensation range: $150,000+ and 10% Bonus
