Senior Director, Communications, Community, and Social Media

Daily Harvest is looking for a Senior Director of Communications, Community, and Social Media to join our Integrated Marketing team. The team is charged with bringing our mission—to take care of food, so food can take care of you – to life. We build equity and consistency for the brand, create awareness, community, and advocacy – all while elevating our corporate reputation and enriching the Daily Harvest experience across every single touchpoint. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about sharing our mission and inspiring the team. This role reports into the Chief Marketing Officer, and collaborates across the organization to bring stories, launches, and campaigns to life through press, social media, and brand advocates.

• Lead the Integrated Communications team—including in-house team members as well as agency support—overseeing earned media, executive visibility, social media, community, and thought leadership. 
• Develop proactive Communications, Social, and Community strategies to build brand affinity and establish Daily Harvest as a leader in food and sustainability.  
• Collaborate with the integrated marketing team–and across the organization–to support launches, campaigns, and key stories, while capitalizing on opportunistic moments.
• Generate positive earned media coverage across consumer lifestyle, business, and trade verticals. Additionally, you’ll take a proactive and reactive approach to thought leadership to build our internal experts as industry change-makers. 
• Support crisis communication activities from strategy through drafting and delivery of materials.
• Become an expert on Daily Harvest’s mission, items, and brand – overseeing the social media calendar, press materials, and messaging to ensure every touchpoint is consistent.
• Be an inspiring leader, helping develop out of the box ideas that will drive press, social buzz, and brand love.
• Responsible for building organic relationships with reporters, tastemakers, content creators, and key groups to create authentic brand advocates.
• Train, support, and inspire your people, creating processes to make the team more effective.
• Oversee tracking of performance, spend, and ROI.

• 10+ years of Communications experience, including brand communications, corporate communications, and social media.
• An empathetic leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
• A passion for earned coverage and social media with an in-depth understanding of the ever-evolving media landscape and top platforms, as well as a proven track-record designing and executing successful campaigns.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible, patient, compassionate, with a strong EQ and the ability to work under pressure and adapt to adverse situations.
• Highly detail and solution oriented.
• Passion for food is a major plus!
