Senior Director - Digital Marketing Technologies
Job Description
She/he will report directly to the VP & Global Head of Digital, Technology and Data. The person in this role will work intimately with Global and Regional Omnichannel marketing teams, Customer Service and the Digital Health business areas to develop solutions to achieve superior business outcomes including customer acquisition strategies and maturing our Marketing Technology stack to optimize communications based on a 360-degree view of the customer.
This role requires a highly technical individual with a broad range of technical skills from Martech and Web platforms and frameworks to Consumer Data Platforms (CDP), Data Management Platforms (DMPs) etc. Technology outcomes directed by this role have a significant impact on consumers, customers, our brand, and the organization's short and long-term results.
The incumbent of this role must understand traditional marketing disciplines that could include search engine optimization, Customer segmentation, Paid search, Social Media, Paid media, Email marketing, Lead Generation, Database management, website optimization • Content management platforms, Customer relationship management platforms, Experience management software, Email marketing tools, E-commerce, Mobile tracking software.
Essential Job Functions• Provides technical expertise and shares an understanding of current capability gaps, architectural gaps, and market and industry trends that can be used to set future direction.• Creates business cases outlining projected impact for each initiative to be prioritized on the roadmap.• Advise on emerging digital technologies, campaign measurement, structure, and strategies, interface design, user experience, SEO/SEM, privacy laws, regulations, and compliance.• Collaborates with Engineering, UX designers & partners spanning marketing, sales, finance, and go to market teams to create industry leading, streamlined customer experiences and capabilities across the end-to-end customer journey enabled by Martech.• Aligns key partners on vision, roadmap, and prioritization of platform capabilities.• Evangelizes and test new business ideas with Global and Regional Omnichannel marketing team members, drive implementation to completion with key success metrics and business impacts• Generates effective platform strategies to dramatically improve time-to-value for Alcon and our customers, based on insights and data.• Reviews and approves platform/product requirements and end to end use cases to be used by engineering & design teams.• Makes tough trade off decisions to get the biggest value to Alcon working collaboratively across various stakeholders.• Defines and communicates the Martech architecture standards, guidelines, and statements of direction by facilitating the design and establishment of architecture standards or controls.• Helps determine the selection of technologies and will have the decision rights on multiple technology stacks.• Participates in the adoption of new high-impact technologies by researching technical trends and developments. • Actively scans and builds trusted partnerships with relevant partners and industry groups.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have led large-scale Marketing technology teams within the cpg, travel, retail, healthcare, fintech, or alternatively other best-in-class industries. This key change agent will partner closely with senior leadership and be an ambassador of the benefits of digital throughout the company.
- Proficiency in Sales Force Marketing Cloud, Widen and/or other automation platforms including experience working on email marketing campaigns, lead generation and nurturing, and Google Analytics
- Team-oriented leader who leads Agile Scrum methodology by example.
- A track record of developing & managing applications and team supporting the following technology platforms (ideally 10+ years):
- Web platforms: Acquia/Drupal/Site Studio, Widen, Google Analytics, Google Maps and Tealium Tag Management.
- Marketing Automation: Salesforce Marketing Cloud including Email Studio, Mobile Studio and Journey Builder. Social Bakers, our social media tool, also lands within this product team.
- CDP: Tealium AudienceStream and Quantum Metrics.
- Solid knowledge and experience in;
- Applicable Data Privacy practices and laws.
- Application rationalization, migration from old platforms to newer platforms.
- Enterprise Web Content Management Systems.
- WordPress, Drupal, Joomla or similar tools.
- SAP Hybris Ecommerce platforms.
- Salesforce CRM Sales and Service clouds.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud / Pardot, Marketo or other Marketing Automation Platforms.
- Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Product Information Management (PIM) systems preferred.
- Developing, organizing, and governing APIs / streams in an enterprise environment.
- Modern microservices based architectures particularly with APIs and Streams.
- Previous digital agency experience a plus.
- Agile/Scrum certification(s).
Requirements
- 10+ years of Martech experience and leading customer and consumer journey platforms.
- Experience in B2B Commerce with an excellent track record of influencing and leading execution of complicated product requirements through multi-matrix organizations.
- Deep understanding of all the user personas & customer journeys involved and their unique needs.
- Strong customer empathy, platform/product ownership, bias for action and sense of urgency.
