Job Description

The Epi organization is looking for a Sr. Director, Engineering leader to join and lead a newly formed team in the Epi BU, Disruptive Technologies. Epi Disruptive Technologies group was created with the focus on creating differentiated products. This dedicated team will focus on identifying new fundamental technologies and accelerate adoption.

General Profile: The Sr. Director provides leadership and direction through senior managers. This person is accountable for the performance and results of multiple regions, diverse job families and/or departments within a major region or business unit. This person will be responsible for developing/executing business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives. Decisions are guided by company and segment/functional strategy and objectives. This person will direct and control the activities of one or more functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute engineering projects and spearheads research and development of forefront and next generation technologies. Identify opportunities for Road map, collaborating with Marketing and Key Product Units. Effective execution to the Road map. Direct an engineering & technology group responsible for all areas, including the design, development and implementation of exceptionally complex engineering programs in accordance with project budgets and release schedules. Anticipate future needs and initiate the development and implementation of new approaches to engineering design and development at the division/segment level with exceptional scope and significant customer impact. Develop and implement long-range plans and create engineering or product specific strategies to reach goals and reviews engineering specifications. As part of senior business group leadership team, ensure that such programs, strategies, and processes address high value problems (HVP) for the division and across segment and is aligned with the organization's direction. Lead/interface with internal customers and suppliers on engineering issues/development involving the divisions to help shape future products. Provide approval guidelines and leadership to reporting engineering managers in the area of long-term program, strategy, and process design. Define performance metrics and reports on the engineering functions' progress against division specific goals.

Desired Experience/Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Sr. Director, managing engineering teams in the Semiconductor industry
  • Experience in heat sources (contact and non-contact), plasma, etch sources, Epitaxy
  • Understanding of coatings, quartz materials, gas transport, knowledge of heat transfer is desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; Master's degree is highly desirable

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of own segment/function, business and commercial expertise to differentiate itself from the competition

  • Leads a business unit, department or sub-function generally through multiple levels of managers of diverse activities; develops and executes business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives
  • Leads and coaches Engineering Directors to enable them to be great leaders for their teams

  • Evaluates key business challenges; directs the development of new or innovative solutions

Impact

  • Guided by company strategy and business objectives, impacts results of segment/function

Interpersonal Skills

  • Influences and negotiates at the top executive levels, with great latitude on outcomes; presents and defends complicated or delicate issues

U.S. Salary Range:

$200,000.00 - $275,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
