Senior Director, Engineering - Clinician Experience

We’re looking for amazing Engineering leadership talent to lead the development of the technology and products that deliver a revolutionary user experience to the clinicians. Your leadership and innovation in job discovery, search, recommendation, credential management and communication products will enable clinicians to effectively discover best job opportunities to care for their patients.

As the Sr. Director of Engineering, reporting to the CTO, you will partner with our Sr. Director of Product in leading the Clinician Experience group at Nomad. Your teams are responsible for acquiring and onboarding clinicians, providing them with best in class job search and recommendations, job applications and management of credentials, and efficient communications spanning email, text messaging and Mobile App push notifications. Your success is measured by how we effectively acquire users and NPS of our users across all funnels.

At Nomad you will:

• Lead the technology vision and mission for clinician experience. Be accountable for the technical strategy and roadmap that can scale with our business. Identify bold innovation investment opportunities and execute to delivery. Lead teams to best prioritize their work towards both max business value delivery to our users and excellence in technology crafts.
• Recruit high caliber Engineering team members, and act as a key contributor to the Engineering team culture, technology best practices, platform and system design and choices.
• Coach, mentor and inspire Engineering Directors and Managers, Sr. individual contributors on technical and career developments.
• Strong business sense and close alignment with enterprise value. Work effectively with business stakeholders in non-technical settings.
• Lead by example. Very technically involved in coaching and driving technical discussions and decisions with members of the team and around system architecture designs.
• Build strong relationships with your partners in Product, Designers, Data Science and BI, as well as other Nomad Product and Engineering groups. Collaborate with business functions to deliver best technology value to our users.
• Be involved in the Agile process at Nomad, such as sprint planning, retrospective meetings, standups and code reviews. Hold your scrum team managers and leads accountable for and help them with milestones and deliveries.

• Proven experience in leading multiple technology initiatives for enterprise products. Managing multiple scrum teams and coaching Engineering Directors, Managers, and Sr. ICs. 
• Proven experience in judgment and coordination of complex technology innovations and improvements. Knows where to make breaking changes to create step change values, and where to make iterations and upgrade incrementally.
• Proven experience in developing and driving technology architecture decisions in marketplace discovery, search and recommendation, document management, and multi-channel communication technology products in both 2B and 2C settings.
• Proven experience in leading mobile App (iOS & Android) development.
• An empathic people leader who is as passionate about developing engineers as they are about developing software, and has experience leading and growing complex technology functions with 50+ engineers.
• Strong technical skills. You consider software development as a lifelong passion. Enjoys conducting deep technical discussions with peers and Sr. members of the technical team.
• Outstanding analytical skills, and ability to analyze user data, think creatively and solve problems in a data-driven decision making manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex technology concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators in a distributed and remote-enabled team setting.
