Role Overview
The Senior Director, Enterprise Capability (Global Capability Network) is the strategic and programmatic leader that connects, empowers and enables the network of Capability professionals across The Coca-Cola Company. The Senior Director, Enterprise Capability plays a critical role as a Center of Excellence leader to provide guidance and guard rails to the Capability Network, creating an equitable associate experience across the organization by ensuring the Capability priorities are executed according to aligned operating principles and best practices.
This role sits on the Enterprise Capability team within the Talent & Development COE in the People & Culture function. The Capability network is comprised of leaders that sit within the global functions and operating units that they support. In this role, the Senior Director, Enterprise Capability will have the opportunity to grow and develop as a networked leader and as a talent development professional, by combining industry best practices with internal ambition. A successful candidate will have capability strategy/consulting, learning & development, and talent development experience and a passion for influencing others and driving scalable impact.
Key responsibilities of this role include leading the Operating Committee of the Capability Council, designing and executing the annual "Capability Camp", and helping with operations of the Capability Council Steering Committee and the Talent Learning Enablement community.
Everyone is a leader at Coca-Cola. This role is an individual contributor without direct reports but has significant responsibility for leading cross-functional project teams, working closely with peers across connected talent practices, and influencing senior leaders across People & Culture and the networked Capability community.
Key Accountabilities
Capability Council
- Help bring the vision and mission of the global capability network leads to life by directing the operating committee of the Global Capability Council, comprised of the global functional and OU capability leaders
- Establish the foundational ways of working for Capabilities at Coca-Cola, including what frameworks and models are used across the organization
- Establish a federated way of working across the global Capability network. Operationalize the routines that connect the capability community, including leading those routines that connect the global roles
- Implement the operating committee's operating principles by activating the members to own and drive
- Design routines that drive best practice sharing with a focus on scalability and implementation
- Create an operating model for transferable skills that sit within multiple functional capability and skill models, including the role of ownership of one function and how content is transferable across the organization for repeatable or personalized program execution
- Establish a measurement strategy, both for impact of Capability initiatives and for assessing functional skills, in partnership with key T&D COE leaders
- Create a development plan to upskill the Capability community for ongoing personal and professional growth
- Partner with the Director, Learning Community, to drive the agenda and implementation of theThrive Learning Exchange CoP, aligning it to the Capability Council focus and upskilling of the Capability Network
- Stay connected to industry trends, surfacing external best practices for ongoing enhancements
- Support the Vice President, Enterprise & Functional Capability, in managing the operations, routines and output of the Capability Council Steering Committee. Cascade key decisions to the Operating Committee and drive implementation throughout the network
Stakeholder Consulting and Management
- The Capability network across Coca-Cola consists of hundreds of full and part time associates (from VP to Senior Manager levels) with many individual or connected development initiatives. This role is the key connector across that community that keeps everyone and everything aligned to one shared Capability vision and mission
- Consult in shared routines and 1:1 with Function and OU Capability leaders on key initiatives to ensure connection to the Global Talent & Development COE programs and to influence quality and execution
- Engage subject matter experts across Coca-Cola People & Culture to build Capability in our Capability community, including growing their knowledge, enhancing their networked mindset, and developing key skills
- Influence the networked Capability organization to participate and engage in projects, programs and roadmaps that will help bring the Skills Strategy to life within the functions and operating units
- Effectively communicate strategy, plans, roles and responsibilities, and ongoing progress to key stakeholders across the People & Culture function and the Global Capability network
Capability Camp
- Plan, design and lead Capability Camp, a 3-day in-person learning and community development experience delivered annually in Q1. This role is the product owner of the program and responsible for leading a team of networked partners to deliver Capability Camp each year
- Bring a big vision for the art of the possible to create an agenda that gives the Capability and Talent community the opportunity to envision and discuss how we can continue to evolve as Capability leaders
- Be hyper-focused on actions from ideation, creating a space in the agenda to capture those actions and creating time, space and activities to drive next steps after Camp
Networked Team Leadership
- Act as product owner of Capability Council and Capability Camp projects; lead a team to help deliver across the network as needed, mostly consisting of individuals from People Services, including Program Manager, Project Manager, Talent Delivery and Learning Delivery team members
- As needed, manage short term experience or contingent workers to help deliver initiatives
- Ensure program/project teams operate with speed and transparency and that empowered decision making enables agility
Candidate Capability Requirements
- Business acumen - proven understanding of the industry and of a networked business

Candidate Background/Experience
- 12 years of experience working in a related role or one with transferable skills
- Experience leading functional capability development from strategy to implementation
- Strong knowledge of adult learning strategy, learning technology and measurement
- Working knowledge of broad talent strategy
- Passion for developing talent and enabling people to be their best selves
- Strong stakeholder management, including influence without authority and the ability to create win-win with business leaders, the talent team, and within the broader HR function
- Capacity to juggle many items concurrently
- Cross-functional team leadership and management
As the organization and its priorities as well as the talent & development industry continuously evolve, this role and the work will also continuously evolve, staying consistent with the scope and responsibilities of a Senior Director, Enterprise Capability.
