Senior Director, Experience Design (Journey Lead)

This role will be responsible for end-to-end design of our user journey's, across responsive web and native mobile experiences. This role will create experience concepts and stories, delivering on a multi-year strategy to improve the user experience for our end users and transform their respective journey's - to help lead the evolution of our end user experiences and supporting our mission of delivering lifetime income for all, with investments that build a better world.

Job Summary
The UX Manager III leads the team that is responsible for the process of designing and developing user engagement experiences for a variety of applications. While owning the short to mid-term execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the group, this job approves and implements functional requirements and the translations into detail design documents. This job manages the team that works to research and develop design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of all products and components.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Manages user experiences regarding any system, looking at things like ease of use, perception of the value of the system, utility and efficiency in performing tasks.
- Develops strategy to ensure user needs and business requirements are represented in features and functionality of system.
- Approves process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate high-level design strategies.
- Liaises with senior leadership to influence others to accept current practices and approaches.
- Supervises complex system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
- Manages department budget, purchases equipment and supplies.
- Develops and implements new products, processes, standards or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results.
- Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback, and directs the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development of team.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead a journey design team to partner with research, product management and development to establish modern best practices for end-to-end experience design and delivery, such as design research, journey mapping, personas, storyboards, concept designs, prototyping and final production designs for our end user experiences.
- Partner with Sr Design Directors to help elevate design awareness and implementation of modern design best practices to enable the team to deliver the highest quality experiences.

- Ensure that the experience priorities for the end user experience inform and align with client & business challenges/goals.
- Partner closely with Digital & Customer Experience Transformation team to implement end to end experience processes and influence adoption of customer centric solutions and a culture of experimentation across the team.
- Collaborate closely with Research, Brand Marketing, Data & Analytics, Technology, Digital and Product Lines of Business to define and execute our end user digital design strategy and lead the end user experience design team(s) to drive scale and growth by maximizing their engagement and loyalty across all digital channels.
- Collaborate with and align the team(s), around our experience strategy goals, and work closely with other Journey Design Directors to ensure consistency across experiences.
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
- 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- 12+ years of UX design and /or design management experience
- Strong and demonstrated background in: enterprise experience design; consumer product design; mobile platform design in an agile delivery model
- Strong and demonstrated background in: Figma, Sketch, InVision, and Miro
- Strong team management and team building skills. Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring leads and individual contributors, as well as developing talent and upgrading craft skills
- Eager to be innovative and possess a strong 'test and learn' mentality

Base Pay Range: $160,700/yr. - $223,400/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
