About The Role 

Goop’s Senior Director, FP&A will report directly to the CFO and serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership across the company by providing business decision support. This role will be responsible for managing the company’s annual business planning and quarterly reforecasting processes, developing & monitoring companywide metrics & KPIs, reporting trends and explaining variances, and translating complex data into actionable insights to drive stronger business performance and profitability.  

Responsibilities 

  • Lead an integrated business planning process across a wide range of functions including eCommerce, Retail, Merchandise Planning, Strategic Partnerships, and more 
  • Lead, with Executive team members, the preparation and presentation of key stakeholder communications including Board of Director presentations, investor communications, Executive Leadership Team proposals, and other financial communications  
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures; highlight trends and analyze causes of unexpected variances; develop and present recommendations to executives and operational leaders 
  • Identify key business performance risks, issues, and opportunities; support actions against them across the company  
  • Advise cross-functional peers on ways to optimize goop’s business through budget and resource management; specifically focusing FP&A expertise on strategic recommendations for merchandise planning and allocation 
  • Lead the refinement and maintenance of goop’s budget and rolling forecast model 
  • Support the accounting team on monthly financial close preparation in the analysis of key P&L line items  
  • Evaluate performance to plan and forecast cash needs on a regular basis; identify opportunities to increase revenues, drive down costs, and use cash more effectively 
  • Guide cross-functional transparency in financial decisions, customer insights, and KPI performance 
  • Drive optimization of existing web-based FP&A tools by facilitating company-wide integration and adoption 

Experience & Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of progressive budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role 
  • Extensive experience in data modeling with large, complex data sets, data visualization, statistical analyses (SQL preferred) 
  • Proven ability to translate large amounts of data and information into strategic and actionable insights, recommendations, and presentations  
  • Experience with Looker, Netsuite, Workday Adaptive Planning or similar systems required 
  • Experience in a dynamic ecommerce business with direct-to-consumer brand knowledge strongly preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, data analysis or related field preferred
