The Role
Nordic's Global Cloud Engineer will serve as the lead of the Nordic cloud engineering and infrastructure team responsible for engineering cloud instances across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. This role runs the enterprise wise development and standardization of Nordic's cloud environment as well as provides architecture services to the organization's application systems and/or IT cloud infrastructure across Nordic's global footprint.
The Global Cloud Engineer will provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts. This individual will look for design flaws and advocate for strong security controls. This position will work closely with IT leadership on road maps for applications and align development plans for the organization's secure infrastructure and reduce risk. The Global Cloud Engineer will also assist with integration of companies Nordic acquires; ensuring a smooth and successful transition of data occurs to the Nordic Azure or AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities
Performs duties and responsibilities corresponding with assigned functions within department which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
- Lead the Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure team at Nordic
- Engineer and orchestrate the Nordic and Nordic brand companies global cloud infrastructure
- Develop and maintain the Nordic Cloud strategy
- Develop and maintain the documentation of the Nordic global cloud infrastructure
- Facilitate the CI/CD pipeline and path to production for Cloud based software and applications
- Provide expertise, design, and implementation services on cloud network security
- Ensure the execution of Secure Software Development Life Cycle (S-SDLC) processes and activities to ensure robust cybersecurity controls are implemented throughout the product lifecycle as well as sound cloud engineering principles
- Maintaining configuration management and service delivery while ensuring Nordic's security policies are enforced
- Develops strategy and roadmaps of enterprise cloud portfolio
- Ensure all aspects of the cloud environment are monitored and properly secured
- Creating best practices for cloud operations and consult the business and IT project teams throughout duration of a project
- Collaborating with teams across the business for project planning and implementations
- Assisting support team to resolve cases on as needed basis
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
- 15+ years' experience providing cloud systems engineering and/or infrastructure architecture support
- Experience in capacity monitoring and trend analysis
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline automation and management
- Familiarity with interworking of a variety of cloud systems, web applications and relational databases
- Experience leading and developing high quality enterprise IT systems in the public cloud environment
- Deep technical skills in cloud architecture and security
- Familiar with threat models for large, distributed systems and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
- Ability to prioritize, attentive to details, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional service
- Very strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills required
- Well-developed communication skill, both interpersonal and organizational
- A sense of urgency and a commitment to timely completion of projects. Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating system and Office Suites (Including older and current versions)
- Advanced knowledge of PowerShell
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic's maxims

- Position will to be located in Madison, WI at Nordic's Home Office.
