Senior Director Global Optimization (Boise, ID)

Summary

The Senior Director of Global Optimization will be responsible for overseeing various critical areas including Continuous Improvement, Sustainability, Supply Chain Development, and Procurement within the Global Food division. This role will play a pivotal part in aligning strategic objectives with operational excellence to drive sustainability initiatives, enhance supply chain capabilities, and optimize procurement processes. The Senior Director will lead a team and collaborate extensively with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Sustainability:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Global Food Sustainability program aligned with business strategy and prioritized goals, including energy and water conservation.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership for sustainability programs, ensuring achievement of key objectives and targets.
• Represent the company in sustainability-focused organizations, committees, and external interactions to advance strategic sustainability initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Communications Department to address external inquiries regarding sustainability.
• Oversee various sustainability-related activities including strategic energy procurement, compliance, reporting, incident management, and ethical sourcing efforts

Continuous Improvement (CI):

• Lead the implementation of a culture of Continuous Improvement across all Global Food manufacturing facilities.
• Drive efficiencies, streamline processes, enhance customer value delivery, and build site team capabilities through Simplot Operating Principles and recognized improvement tools.

Supply Chain Development:

• Implement a Supply Chain Development program supporting major initiatives, end-to-end supply chain roadmaps, and manufacturing network strategy.
• Champion cross-functional supply chain strategies based on Global Category Strategies, including Manufacturing Network optimization and Make vs Buy decisions.
• Lead the development and submission of business cases for large cross-business initiatives.

Procurement:

• Direct and lead global procurement activities for Category Management, encompassing NA, LATAM, and APAC plant direct materials (excluding raw materials) and Co Pack Finished Goods.
• Participate in the Simplot companywide Procurement Leadership Team and drive Food Group participation in Procurement Systems and Tools initiatives.

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

10+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

• Advanced certifications or training in sustainability, continuous improvement methodologies, or supply chain management.
• Experience working with cross-functional, global teams.
• Previous exposure to the food industry or a related field.
