Overview:

This role is part of the Global Market Research Team that provides centralized resources and capabilities to market researchers around the globe as well as research support to non-brand facing parts of the business. It is critical that we advance our capabilities and empower Lilly to discover, distill and activate quality insights so we can understand our customers better than anyone else in our industry.

Responsibilities:

This role helps to define and evolve the capabilities for a world-class insights and foresight organization. The leader will identify & evaluate future skill sets, techniques, tools, and approaches that the department will need to incorporate to be at the forefront of pharmaceutical market research.

You will lead ongoing innovation work related to automation, machine learning, and natural language processing. Incumbent will partner with Lilly Market Research (LMR), forecasting, and analytics (FAM) leadership to align on prioritized new projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead the broad Market Research and FAM communities in facilitating innovation and market research transformation and capability development
  • Collaborate with Sourcing Council to evaluate and make recommendations on tools, capabilities and supplier base to support LMR objectives
  • Develop recommendations for leveraging insights activation tools, including existing resources' (CLUE) and novel approaches (data visualization, self-service MR)
  • Partner with LMR Sourcing and Training Senior Director to update training curriculum that supports LMR capabilities and competencies, both existing and new
  • Proactively find opportunities to consult with market researchers to improve insight development
  • Integrate proven behavioral market research techniques into the broader LMR organization
  • Showcase examples of how leading organizations leverage new tools and techniques in Insights development
  • Lead research projects that pilot out new tools, techniques, or supplier capabilities
  • Train, develop, and lead direct report in leading projects and work to advance the processes and capabilities needed to enable embedding and scaling of innovation

In addition, this role will leverage and build skills in organizational change management and stakeholder management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 5 years in a market research role.

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • M.B.A., M.M.R. or other relevant advanced degree
  • Experience working with external partners and collaborators
  • Demonstrated skill at training and developing others
  • Strong advocate for customer experience and research transformation
  • Strong qualitative, quantitative, analytics and ethnographic skills
  • Direct experience implementing social science research, market research, or clinical research.
  • Experience interacting with functional and business senior leaders in shaping strategic direction and long-range planning.
  • Strong collaboration with colleagues at all levels; able to work with and through others
  • Demonstrated learning agility and ability to think differently to incorporate new learning.
  • Ability to think at an enterprise as well as at a business unit, affiliate and functional level.

  • Role may require early morning calls with team members in India at our LCCI offices or with suppliers who have personnel in other locations.
  • Travel is not required. < 10%
