What You’ll Be a Part Of

Working at Built In is the chance to help shape a fast-growing company. Whereas we served eight tech hubs at the start of 2021, we entered 72 new markets across the U.S. by year’s end. Global plans are in the works.

With the launch of e-learning opportunities for users, we’ve made Built In even more valuable for the professionals who already trust us with their careers. And as we grow into the leading SaaS product for employer branding, we're using the latest technologies to serve customers in new, exciting ways — and you’ll contribute to that.

You’ll also be a part of changing the lives of professionals like you, ambitious people with a passion for tech and love of learning. As a result, you’ll understand the impact of your work in a deeply personal, especially meaningful way.

We’re looking for a Senior Director, Marketing

We are looking for a collaborative, data-driven, and market-focused Senior Director, Marketing with a proven track record of success. In close partnership with sales, you and your team will support the buyer journey at every step with messaging, programs, and content that measurably impact revenue growth. An inspirational executive who leads by example, you will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that includes demand generation, thought leadership, and frictionless GTM product launches.

 How you’ll contribute
  • Create and own a marketing plan and continually optimize marketing performance to meet business objectives within budget
  • Drive demand generation with data-driven insights, content and campaigns
  • Target Ideal customers with compelling and differentiated value-based messaging
  • Extend Built In’s reputation as a thought leader with topics and content to drive demand, revenue and industry conversation
  • Empower the Go To Market Teams with market-facing resources and data-driven storytelling to fuel frictionless cross-functional product launches and GTM enablement
  • Partner with Sales and Rev Ops to optimize the funnel at every stage
  • Hire, lead and nurture a high performing marketing team

How your role expectations will progress as a Senior Director, Marketing in the first 30, 60, and 90 days:

30 Days In - Be A Learner

  • Understanding Built In’s vision and your team's existing strategy is crucial for producing high-quality work and making an impact.
  • In the first 30 days of your employment, your priority is to soak in as much information as possible. Listen, ask questions, then ask more questions.
    • Learn our business model, department goals and build relationships
    • Learn our mission, vision, values, and employer brand
    • Learn product packages; understand product launch plans and associated messaging and marketing programs
    • Learn weekly, monthly and quarter marketing and sales metrics and their underlying data models and analytics (supported by Rev Ops)

60 Days In - Be A Contributor

  • You should ramp up your workload, start making an impact, and make a name for yourself on your team.
  • Start speaking up more at meetings. Don't be afraid to share your ideas about improving your team's processes. You still have a fresh perspective on the company, so your insight is invaluable.
      • Present marketing data, insights and actions at pipeline meetings with sales
      • Deliver a compelling elevator pitch and initial presentation to the GTM leadership team (with any suggestions for improvement)

90 Days In - Be A Leader

  • You should have a firm grasp of your role, feel confident about your abilities, and be on the cusp of making a breakthrough contribution to your team.
  • You should also be cognizant of how you can collaborate with other teams to improve your own team's processes.
  • Present to Product and GTM leadership an updated marketing plan that includes team priorities, alignment with sales, and key programs.
What you need
  • 8+ years of B2B Saas Marketing experience, with at least 4 years in product marketing

What We Value

We’re revolutionizing tech recruitment. So we question everything, because the best answers sit just to the right of a question mark. That’s our heritage as a disruptive company — as a company whose future depends on our capacity to innovate with a sense of drive, purpose and urgency. If you join Built In, you will work from this set of values:

  • Be Inclusive, Always. We’re committed to a culture where all people are respected, have a say and can be their whole selves. We will uplift and advocate for one another. Always.
  • Be Unreasonably Passionate. Our passion is borderline obsessive, and we’re ok with that. No one ever built anything great on a “meh.” We work with outsized passion to fulfill our mission.
  • Be Humble. You don’t have all the answers. Luckily, you don’t have to. Don’t worry about being right. Be humble instead.
  • Stay Curious. Curiosity is a springboard to the future. It can transform the wisp of an idea into a breakthrough. We ask “what if.” We work with wonder. It’s how we innovate.
  • Lead with Solutions. Question everything. But offer solutions as you do. Raise issues. But propose a few answers. For every hole you poke, offer a way to patch it up.
  • Own the Result. We have no time for blame or shame. When you stumble, own it, learn from it + get back to business.
  • Do More. Do more than your job description. Take initiative. Take charge. No job is beneath you, and no job is too big. Be a leader and do more — do whatever it takes.
 Be Inclusive, Always

Research shows that women and other marginalized groups tend to apply to roles only when they check every point on a job description. We encourage you to apply if you meet the majority of qualifications and this role is aligned with your career trajectory.
