Summary and Role Purpose
The Sr. Director, Brand & Corporate Communications is responsible for developing and delivering Ansys brand intelligence, positioning, identity, content, campaigns, and proof points with the expectation of elevating the company's visibility and strengthening its competitive position globally. This leader is also responsible for the storytelling function at Ansys spanning public relations, reputation management, industry analyst relations, and employee communications.In addition, this role is expected to partner closely with our executive communications function to ensure that overall messaging is consistent across Ansys. It's a fast paced, dynamic, and exciting environment in a high-growth company. We're looking for an experienced marketing leader who has a bold vision for the future of the Ansys brand and who thrives at the center of always-on communications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop brand positioning strategy, concepts activation plan to improve awareness and competitive differentiation within the simulation industry by collaborating with Executive, Marketing, Sales and Partner leaders to ensure Go to Market alignment
- Design, develop and execute corporate marketing campaigns leveraging external research, external agencies and internal corporate content, video production and creative design teams
- Oversee competitive brand tracking and annual global research studies to validate the value of Ansys brand equity and effectiveness of brand messaging pull-through YoY
- Manage brand assets, including corporate messaging and imagery architectures, vision and mission statements, corporate taglines and trademarks and competitive positioning across all marketing channels. Infuse brand differentiation messaging and proof points into executive, partner and sales presentations and ensure consistent training for Executives, Sales, Partners and Employees
- Manage brand transition planning and alignment related to M&A activities and global corporate facilities
- Reinforce Ansys's leadership position in the industry through the pursuit of industry, technology and regional awards
- Own the Corporate communications strategy that aligns with our PR messaging and internal communications priorities
- Lead a global media relations team to deliver breakthrough PR across business and trade media including driving an increase in business press, broadcast placements globally
- Oversee crisis communications as needed
- Inspire, build, and lead a strong team by coaching and developing existing team members; bring strong vision and leadership to evolve the function by building new programs and developing required skills
- Work closely with the Ansys Marketing leadership team to define the strategic objectives for the function and build strong working relationships to deliver as a One Ansys Marketing organization
- Explore new ways to create deeper and more immediate connectivity with the global workforce
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Brand Management, Public Affairs, English or Writing
- A minimum of 15 years of B2B corporate marketing and communications experience with at least 5 years of management and leadership experience
- Demonstrated expertise in driving multi-channel awareness and establishing a corporate voice
- Solid understanding of brand communications and demonstrated success in managing highly visible corporate PR matters
- Skillful in creating a messaging framework that is clear, compelling and impactful
- Demonstrated ability to engage at all levels of the business from strategic vision to tactical execution
- High degree of creativity, flexibility, energy and enthusiasm
- Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills
- Demonstrated experience developing both an internal and external communications strategy and execution plan
- Demonstrated analytical processing, critical-thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and follow-through skills
- Proven experience with change management and organizational transformation
- Strong cross functional relationship development skills. Proven success leading a global team and working across cultures with distributed cross-functional teams to align to common goals.
- MBA
- Prior experience working in a technical business setting with engineers or in engineering simulation preferred
- Public company experience preferred
